But didn't Dana White and UFC recently do some big deal with Bud Light?

Yes he talks about it in the full interview and explains why he did it. Basically because of all the good things Bud Light helps support like veterans and not the one mistake they made. He pretty much calls all the people boycotting it still a bunch of mouth breathers.

A certain percentage of people never emotionally mature past the stage of crying when they don't get their way.

We just have to do our best to ignore them and let them cry themselves out.

Actually the Bud Light thing was people trying to cancel them for who they had on their can.

Boycotting is not canceling. No one is demanding that Bud Light cease operations, or doxxing their c-suites.

Lol when you start a campaign to try to get other people to follow along with your boycott it changes from you boycotting something to you trying to cancel it.

If you boycott something, you just stop buying it and go about your day.

Wrong. Canceling is when you try to get people fired or removed.

This board has spent months clearly laying that out. Some posters choose to ignore it.

If peloton told Theo Von that they were not going to sponsor his podcast any more because he had on RFKJr, that’s completely up to them as it’s their money.

If they told him not to have him on, that’s cancelling. One prevents discussion and opinions from being heard, one is a financial transaction. There’s a difference.

Lol if your way of coping is to change the definition of what cancel culture is to whatever makes you feel like you didnt engage in it that's on you.

The actual definition is "the mass withdrawal of support from public figures or celebrities who have done things that aren't socially accepted today. This practice of "canceling" or mass shaming often occurs on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook."

Thats the 5th grade definition.

Canceling is trying to get something removed or fired.

Under his definition, Ive been canceling millions of products my entire life. Yet, theyre still here. Strange.

You should have opened that dictionary.com link you googled and read further.

O contrare. I do understand it, your boomer self is the one that is having trouble.
Webster's Dictionary
quote:

cancel culture
noun
: the practice or tendency of engaging in mass canceling (see CANCEL entry 1 sense 1e) as a way of expressing disapproval and exerting social pressure
For those of you who aren't aware, cancel culture refers to the mass withdrawal of support from public figures or celebrities who have done things that aren't socially accepted today. This practice of "canceling" or mass shaming often occurs on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.

No under his definition any withdrawal of support from a public figure is cancelling.

Cancelling is synonymous with silencing. Cancel culture is synonymous with deplatforming and silencing those that hold and speak different opinions.

Boycotting is actively withdrawing support of something by not participating in or purchasing that thing.

I’m tired of this argument as it’s so plain and clear that boycotts are not cancelling. Can they be part of it? Yes, but boycotting is NOT the same as cancelling.

I went to your website. Look at every other definition of cancelling. It involves the elimination or destruction of something. I’m very curious when that edit was made because that edit does not accurately portray what cancelling is in a cultural sense.

Also, their definition of cancel culture is exceptional vague and widespread and almost like it was expressly written to allow for extremely wide interpretation based on worldview.

I’m a nobody, Webster has not and will never asked me for assistance in curating a definition, but in my wholly unqualified opinion that definition of cancelling and cancel culture is woefully incorrect and lacking.
