Nature plays for keeps.
There are two options: live or die, and it is played out by something every second of every day on the smallest and grandest of scales. There are no trivial complications to that end. Things live to advance the species another generation. That's all.

More like bye-wolf amirite.
And it's a bison.

Consider this:
When food resources are for whatever reason slim, some animals, primarily insects, resort to matriphagy to survive. The brood literally eats their mother. The craziest part? The mother doesn't attempt to save herself. She doesn't fight or flee. She allows it to happen for the advancement of the species. That is all that matters, her continued existence in the world no longer serves a purpose. Her death means more at that point than her life.

The look on the calf’s face. Good “out” meme material.

What happened to the wolf’s other leg? Terrible photoshop

That's nature's version of checks and balances.
Posted on 11/4/23 at 10:43 am to olemc999
that entire things just looks photoshopped, regardless or not if it is or isn't

fricking right. Nature is beautiful. There is no cancel culture in nature. You frick around and you get bounced.

That is not a "mama" bison.
Look closely.
Look closely.

Flipped about and flown out.

That’s an awesome pic but pretty tame as far as nature goes. You should look up the Komodo dragon digging a moving deer fetus out of a still-alive mother deer and eating it in front of her.

Bison are not true buffalo.
