Let's Talk About Herb Jones

His defense is as good as ever, but his offensive game seems to have taken a step up. Yes the 80% 3 point shooting is a small sample size that will go down, but he just looks so much more decisive and confident on offense this season.
It's crazy to think back to last season where he seemed to take a step back the first few months before ending the season looking great. He's definitely starting year 3 off right.

The bottom gif made me jump up. That's a different level to Herb's game.

Herb is turning into Kawhi Leonard without the drama and I'm here for it.

Yeah this was always gonna hold him back but man if he can just knock down those 3s on a somewhat consistent basis….league is fricked

Are there any Herb haters left in the fanbase? He has won over everyone.

One problem I've had with Herb for many years is...I find myself just watchin' Herb and pretty much nothing else...when he's on defense.
He just does SO many "small things" that have a huge effect on a teams' overall defense. I suggest that nobody "zero in" on Herb on defense...it's hard to stop, once you start doing it.

Really intriguing thing about Herb is...he had absolutely NO offensive game to speak of, in college. Totally stunted...for one reason or another. I have an opinion on why that was...but it's not really important and anyway, probably not correct.
He's had to basically learn how to play offense (starting from square one) since he arrived in the NBA. And the NBA is NOT a place...where you want to try & "learn" how to play offense. This is another reason I find Herb so interesting as a "project"...I knew the D was there...but I just had NO idea how quickly (or IF)...he could develope an offensive game. Should be a fun ride, if he continues his hard work, on the offensive side.

Herb taking another step makes me even more excited for Trey and Jose’s return. There are a lot of good teams in the NBA nowadays but only a few teams actually can win a championship. Fully healthy I think we are one of them. This offense is already nasty with Kira and Dyson getting decent minutes. Trade that for Trey and Jose sheesh

That block on Barrett is a thing of beauty. I’m fully convinced he is the only human alive that could’ve blocked it

Trey is a stone cold shooter with great room to develope into much more. I think Dyson will be a key part, even though he has struggled so far.
As good as Herb is on D...I think the addition of Dyson on the court at the same time...would make Herb EVEN better and more versatile on D. Plus Dyson will improve on D, just by being out there with Herb and seeing how Herb does things.

Kawhi Leonard year 3:
13/6/2 shooting 52/38/80
- Championship winning year
Herb Jones year 3:
12/5/2 shooting 57/80/60
- winning it all

Gonna have to turn it on, to reach Kawhi level...BUT...one good thing...there is not an Uncle Dennis.

We locked this guy down cheap before he became even more amazing. Good job Griff!

My favorite player in the NBA. He is so damn humble and plays the right way.

People wanted to trade him last year.

I was a fan of him in college because I hated playing against him. He destroyed lsu. His defense was unreal. I loved the pick as he seemed like a hard worker and would hopefully build the offense. Might be my favorite player now honestly.
