A week and a half away from the first game for men's basketball and LSU has yet to get a decision on Jalen Cook's waiver. Cook announced he was transferring April 7th, 202 days ago. Regardless of what the decision is, this shite should not take this long. All it does is screw over the players and teams involved while the NCAA gets to sit back, collect checks, and pretend to give a damn about student athletes. Once again, frick the NCAA. Rant over.

On top of that they are changing the rules again but won't take effect until 24/25
Those in limbo this year are still screwed

The whole governance structure needs to change and I like the idea of separate commissioners for each major sport at D1 level and maybe one commish to handle women's sports
For lower levels you could have one commissioner overseeing those divisions for all sports
I still think the NCAA can be a part of this setup but major change is still needed

It seems like they are picking up the pace of issuing waiver denials for the 23/24 season. They just issued a denial for two-time transfer RaeQuan Battle, who LSU was trying to court to BR.

Who cares if Cook was gonna play we still got low t McMild at the helm. Cook maybe would’ve doubled our SEC wins from last year though

The NCAA is slowly building itself a path to being left in the dust by the super conferences.
What’s to stop a few mega conferences from saying nah, We will regulate ourselves

Is this similar to what happened with the WR at UNC? I think they denied him and then after missing 3-4 games allowed him to play.

The NCAA sucks!

You're asking if they'll actually punish a UNC player? The NCAA looked at them putting players in fake classes to get easy As, and their punishment was: Nothing.

good point!

But what exactly is the process here...the rule should be black and white so they don't have cases like this every year.

With all of the money they've piled up, there is absolutely no reason why anything should be bogged down in paperwork.
They are just assholes.

I say let him play and take your 50/50 chance. What is the worse thing that could happen we have to forfeit the games he played in?

The primary function of the NCAA is to make money for the NCAA. Once you realize this everything falls into place.

We should just let him play, and if we have to forfeit then who cares. We don’t have the horses to compete for a title this year anyway.

Didn’t USCw play a clearly ineligible guy earlier this year? The NCAA hasn’t done anything to them to my knowledge.

He needs to lawyer up, if he hasn't already. The NCAA habitually backs down from these types of things when players hire lawyers.
