What's the best 8" stainless steel pan that won't break the bank?

I prefer non-rivet handles for easier cleaning but if the price is right I would settle for a good one w/ rivets. Anyone have any recommended brands or models. I am over Teflon and non-stick pans.

My SS All-Clads are great at being pans. They do have rivets but I don't hold it against them.

Matfer Bourgeat
I believe it was Serious Eats that rated this pan as their best frying pan. I have the 10" and love it. With the rims being as open as they are, it does make flipping ingredients around a little difficult.

I thought I needed stainless pans years ago. I never use them

They're really good at searing, creating fond, and making a pan sauce.

Honestly, mine are my go-to pans, and I rarely use anything else.

I have this set from COSTCO and they cook and clean up very well. This is the 8" of that series. The secret to cooking with stainless is to get some heat in the pan before adding your proteins.

I paid $180 for a set of Hestan 11” and 12.5” stainless pans plus a lid. They have flush rivets. I’d imagine the 8” pan by itself would be reasonable.
Edit: Never mind, the 8” pan is $150. They went full r word.

Carbon steel is an upgrade from stainless. I have an all clad stainless frying pan, also, and I find myself reaching for the Malfer to sear foods. It’s also rivetless, as OP asked for.

I have an Italian made gas stove that tends to flame on the high side. Some of the stainless are said to dampen the heat some which is perfect. The simmer setting will almost burn shite with my wife's pampered chef non-stick.

We replaced ours with the all-clad knock off set from Sams. It's been wonderful so far.

I like Heritage Steel and Made In for Stainless Steel pans.
For cast iron, I like Staub and Smithey Ironworks.
All will last you a lifetime.

Made-In. If it's good enough for Alinea, it's good enough for me.
