He's also one of the few guys we have that's a presence in the clubhouse. Be nice to have a little more of that as well.

I would bring JV back for no other reason than to mentor Diaz, Brown, and France

Then again how much of a shakeup does a team need coming off 7 straight ALCS vs just adding some common sense and cooperation back into the mix

This.

Hoo, you realize we have to see that picture every time we open this thread for the entire offseason? Why would you torture us like that?

We deserve it.

At least until both are officially gone.

He's signed for next year already with a vesting options for 2025 if he hits 140 innungs. No need to debate it.

The addition by subtraction of the 2 tards already gets this offseason off to a far better start than the last one.

I'll throw something on the table for a roster shakeup and talent infusion...

...trade Tucker.

I think Tucker will get moved at some point but might be closer to the end of his current contract. But I would think you could get nice value coming off the year he had playoffs not withstanding. He could bring back some pitching.

If he's not open to an extension or indicates he's going to the open market, it should be considered. But I think we'd be hard pressed to generate the value for 3 full seasons of a player of his caliber. I mean 3 prime seasons of an arbitration years 30 home run 100 rbi 30 steal guy.

I mean you're talking at least a Juan Soto package. I'm not sure we can do it with 3 years left. We figure to be contenders again next year and yoube still got to find a way to replace him and buying it won't be cheap.

I think this team could improve just with Baker and Maldonado being gone. But the starting pitchers were a nightmare in the second half. And I hope they don’t essentially stand pat for a second offseason in a row and bet on that improvement.

I hope they start fresh at manager and giving him and Dana Brown the power to hire the people they want on the coaching staff. Maybe this club has been too lax at times because of Baker’s demeanor and because of the other familiar faces on the staff. A shake-up might not be the worst thing.

Those of y'all wanting to trade Tucker idiots he's a productive player absolutely he was in a slump in the playoffs but he has a beautiful swing and a good bat maybe he needs some protection in the lineup certainly a Bray you having an extremely slow start kind of limited the options and moving things around the lineup but you're not gonna get a player of Tucker's value in trade or free agency and you need an outfielder don't give away an outfielder******** morons

Derp. No one said give him away. Shop him for max value just in case someone wants to pay up. If not, you keep him.

I don't trust Framber and Javi. It's great when they're on, it's brutal when they aren't.

I think a lot of Framber, Javi, Garcia, Presley and Urkels issue were just fatigue, 2 consecutive World Series appearances plus WBC had to take its toll. Will they be become more dependable? Whose knows, but the much needed rest can’t hurt.

I think the priorities are these:

1) Who’s the manager? Espada or someone outside the organization.

2) How do you fix the offensive problems at home? All we needed was one home victory and we were back in the World Series. Either make some cosmetic changes to the park or hire the best hypnotist you can find to make these guys think they’re always playing on the road.

3) Despite the inexplicable offensive drought at home, there are still holes in the lineup, namely the 6-9 spots. Yainer, as a full-time catcher might fix one of those. Hopefully Peña figures out how to get back some semblance of what he was in last year’s postseason. But we’re still kinda weak in the other two spots. Need a power hitting corner infielder and a high average hitting outfielder with some ability to steal bases.

4) Need another high end reliever. Pressly was better in the playoffs but he’s becoming more and more unreliable during the season. Several have to go, Montero being the main one.

5) Need to build up the farm system. Guys like Carter and Jung played huge roles for the Rangers. Maybe we could have gotten that from Diaz if Dusty would have played him. But we need some can’t miss dudes in the system that can either come up and help or get us that player we need at the deadline.

I’m so fricking disconnected with Tucker so I’d be indifferent if he were traded. I get the numbers he put up are great but y’all know, he drives me fricking crazy with the way he carries himself and plays the game. I understand that playing baseball is his job, but he acts and plays the game like it’s his job that he dislikes. If that makes sense.

They lost last night but we can all rejoice that it’s the end of the Baker/Maldanado love affair. And no one is thanking that MFer for leaving Diaz on the bench at all. Good riddance.

What is the current Astros financial situation? Do that have enough funds to pick up an off season, moderately pricey starter? Honestly, I think that’s all this squad needs. Because the first need is already been reported last night.

Where are you going to fit him? Let Brantley walk and Abreu DH?

Yes. Let Abreu DH.

I think Brantley is done. I just don’t see him producing like he used to. Swing looks slow.

Having Yordan play LF everyday seems like a recipe for him missing a month or two
