women thrive on emotions.....and perception. having the bad boy on their side gives them the emotional satisfaction that they are perceived as "it".

eta: then when said bad boy dumps them or cheats on them, they have the satisfaction of being victimized, only to go on the hunt for another bad boy.

Humans developed a successful mating strategy over hundreds of thousands of years before they became civilized: women were attracted to strong, aggressive males that would protect them and their children, and men were attracted to slutty women who frick. This basic strategy ensured the proliferation and survival of the species.

The past 3000 years (or less) of more "civilized" relationships has a hard time competing with the hundreds of thousands of years of mating impulses in our hindbrains. The last 100 years of feminism doesn't do much, either.

Yes and no. they like the fantasy of taming the bad boy and making him good. Not always being with the bad boy.

Women like confidence and bad boys tend to be confident

They see it as the guy knows what he wants and does it/takes it and they believe they can “fix” the bad part. Usually broken or trashy women do this

You can be a good guy and be confident and get good women.

Women just don’t like meek/insecure men or men who aren’t trying to aggressively do better in life/succeed.

I have buddy who’s a sex therapist (studied under Masters & Johnson), and he once told me that women are genetically hardwired to seek out security in a potential mate.

They do until about mid 40's when they realize all they were was just a "pump and dump" and then they go after "that guy they never gave a chance to back in high school."

Idk, I kinda see it with the same logic with men. Women get passed up all the time by men who pick up the sluttiest looking girls

While I love my wife and I’m glad I found her when I did, I often think back to the women I passed up in my mid 20s or ones I just had a fling with and dropped because I wanted to play the field. There were a lot of good ones and I feel stupid for being the way I was

You don't necessarily have to be a bad boy, but you can't show weakness. Women are like lions stalking a herd of wildebeests and they will cull the weak links with the quickness. They say they want you to be vulnerable, they probably believe it themselves, and it may even be true up to a point. But go beyond that point and they'll never think of you the same way again.

Or do they just think they do? Seems like they get with the bad boy, he ends up treating her like shite, and then she wonders why. Then, just repeats the same trend....

Women like men with “alpha”characteristics - muscular physique, assertiveness, confidence, outcome independence. “Nice guys” label this as “bad boys.”

Many guys nowadays have red flags because we collectively have the emotional maturity of a toddler. That’s why their “bad boy” relationships don’t work out. Has nothing to do with the things they’re inherently attracted to.
