I use Oxy Clean and Dawn together. Warm water on the clothes. They rub the mixture in good and let it sit overnight.

I always thought try washing in cold water in whatever treatment you choose to avoid in settling in the garment

every good solvent has basically been banned by EPA because of toxicity

that being said it depends on how chemically polarized the substance of stain is so there is not a single answer.

like dissolves like

Do yourself a favor and buy some tide. Anytime you get anything that might stain on your clothes, just put tide directly in it. Wait, wash it right away, it doesn’t matter, it will probably come out. Says it right on the package. Everything but grease. For grease use some brake parts cleaner. You will never stain anything again. You’re welcome.

I have found that my "clothes washer" usually produces the best results. I'm OT poor so she also doubles up as the "sammich maker".

I keep an old toothbrush near the washer and use either Simple Green or Fels-Naptha soap with some water and scrub with the toothbrush.

Hydrogen Peroxide works on blood stains like magic. Between myself and three teenage boys, I've used this a lot!
