I think that was the year I almost had a stroke watching LSU football.
Literally.
Literally.

Through the coaches the perfect forfeited season of Bowden just crazy earthquakes n blazes, 4 interceptions seared into my heart in a half to lose.
I hate to love our games.

Almost 54 years ago, on October 25, 1969, when I was eleven years old, my father took me to Tiger Stadium to watch LSU play Auburn. He bought us two tickets outside of the stadium... two seats directly behind the goalposts. What a game! Future Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan had a great game and fought hard to keep Auburn in contention against the undefeated Tigers. A 12-yard touchdown pass right in front of us by Sullivan in the 4th quarter made the score 21-20. All Auburn had to do was successfully kick the extra point to tie the game. But instead linebacker George Bevan, just 20 yards in front of us, plowed through the line and blocked the extra point attempt, preserving a 21-20 lead (and ultimately a 21-20 victory) for LSU. In my entire life, I had never heard, nor have I ever since heard, a noise that loud. My ears would ring, joyously, for days.

The 1980 LSU-Auburn game in BR had a wild finish that I missed. I was a freshman, as was my (now) wife. With under two minutes to go LSU got the ball back with the lead. I grabbed my girl and headed for the dorm to enjoy something rather new to me at that time.
Hokie fumbled, Auburn got it back on our 11 and went 4 and out for an LSU win. I heard it all from the dorm (Hatcher?) next to the stadium. It was my friend’s dorm. I was at SLU that year. That’s why I needed the early departure.

Unfortunately, Auburn would rather keep Georgia and Alabama
Are you saying Auburn doesn't hate us as much as we hate them? Say it isn't so.

Some great numbers there. Well said.
Also, great close trip away game. Auburn is only like really 6 hours, quick drive away. Great fans....compared to picking up Texas and OU, which are much further away.
It only takes me at most 7 hours to get to Mandeville from Austin. So, Austin is only 6 hours from Baton Rouge...

Auburn might be my favorite team LSU plays. Pretty much always a good, ranked matchup and an exciting game, with LSU coming out on top more often than not.
And I honestly have no hate for Auburn (except Chaz Ramsey. frick Chaz Ramsey).
Since graduating I usually only get down to BR for one game a year, and most have been for Auburn games. Going to miss this as an annual tradition.

I would rather play Auburn every year.
I don’t even care about A&M. With Texas joining ….most LSU fans would rather play Texas, which is a much bigger game, every year and not their little brothers.

After tonight, we're up 33-24-1 in the series, and Auburn is not on the 2024 schedule.
Wrong, 3 of the wins were vacated.
Record is 30-24-1

Post 9/11 game was fire. One of my favorite games to watch live.
That was my wife's first game ever in Tiger Stadium. She still talks about it and gets goose bumps. She finally gained understanding.

My 3 favorite games every year. Sad to see it go. Thanks Sankey.
