I have always wanted more Roger Rabbit. Potential sequels and prequels have been kicked around for 30 years.
Last I heard, Robert Zemeckis said a script was done, but the people running Disney these days would never green-light it because it doesn't have a princess and they hate Jessica Rabbit. Sadly, that's believable.

My two for every one of these threads
A sequel of Starman (1984) that's mainly about the son Jenny Hayden had by the Starman. The worst thing that could happen: It can lead to a precedent setting lawsuit over Columbia Pictures using AI to generate Jeff Bridges' image for the whole of his visit back to Earth. Part of the story would be he and his son look very close in age because the son would age on Earth, but Starman doesn't age back home. Wouldn't be bothered if, near the end of the movie, there was an offer from The Starman to take the son back where he wouldn't age as much, and would be healthier on the Staman's planet.
A vampireless prequel to From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) about Seth and Richard Gecko's lives of crime and skirt chasing. Wouldn't need Clooney or Tarantino, because this movie would be about them in their 20's. To me the movie is great until people turn into vampires.

How about a prequel to Tombstone,
with the events leading up to the Earps and Doc arriving in Tombstone.
The Kevin Costner film "Wyatt Earp" pretty much covered that

But meh, Costner as Wyatt and no Val Kilmer as Doc( I assume Quaid was just okay).

Field of Dreams
Charles Mann (a controversial writer) goes to the other side of the cornfield.
There should be a good story there.
Four Brothers
I'm positive there could be a good story for how they all were adopted into one foster home (prequel).
Space Balls The Sequel: The Search For More Money
Mel Brooks? Why not?

A dark Jurassic Park prequel that follows the tone of the book that details how Hammond got the island and cloned the dinosaurs (and the things that went wrong) leading up to Hammond inviting the experts to tour the park in the first movie.

I could also watch a vampireless sequel of what Seth Gecko is up to these days starring Clooney.

Master and Commander is the really big one. Great director and cast. Most importantly, another dozen books that were A-list stories to develop screenplays from. Those would have been $$$$$$$ sequels.

I don't know if it was said already, but if not, it should have.
Next Karate Kid (2).
I need to know what happened with Julie and Eric.

Another Mad Max movie with Tom Hardy. Instead, he's in those dogshit Venom movies, slumming it with Michelle Williams for a paycheck.
I'm wishy-washy about the Furiosa movie - it's George Miller doing a Mad Max movie, with Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. But I dunno about Anya Taylor-Joy playing a young Furiosa.

Watched Master and Commander recently and lamented that despite the wealth of source material, they never made a sequel.
If they made one now, the HMS Surprise would tilt/list to what ever side of the boat Captain Jack Aubrey was standing on...

Alien franchise… Prometheus/Covenant while entertaining “prequels,” they didn’t scratch that itch for me

This this this, so much this.
so much source material with this one. in the alien universe the comics have the xenos taking over earth. that alone opens endless possibilities for stories.
honestly same with world war z. fricking awesome, eclectic examples of source material that never get touched in the movie.

They did this as a one-season TV series in 1986, with Robert Hays as the Starman cloning from a different body:
