we played better at the end, but you can watch plays where we’re clearly in zone on the early TD drives.

I'm sure it was mixed in here and there but I'd have to see the all 22 to know for sure.

A) you have to have the players. We aren't talented enough, especially in the back 7, for a team effort.

B) as evidenced by the Pelini era, when we had Stingley and Ricks and some pretty good safeties... good talent can be wasted by bad coaching.

It takes both, neither will be "great" stand alone.

So taking that into account, it is bad enough, where this isn't a talent only problem.

1. House's system is complicated, but that's nothing new in high-level CFB. If it is too complicated in the context of the limitations in CFB vs. NFL.. then it needs to change. If not, then they are doing a shitty job of coaching them up; which is what I see based on being out of position so damn often.

2. It's CFB, if you don't have the Jimmies and the Joes (talent level) you adjust to limit the damage and rely on your offense. Thankfully, we have the offense where we could do that. Sadly, that adjustment hasn't been made and we get gashed on the ground and in the air, 14 play drives and 2 play 75 yard TDs. We haven't mitigated one aspect and taken the L in the other. We are just taking L's everywhere. That's on the coaches, first and foremost House.

Summary: House needs to reinvent himself and either forget he was in the NFL or revert to his KY days... or go.

So do we know for sure who made the decision, no but the evidence points in one direction only.

Jenkins: Coach, SMith and Wingo worked different positions and techniques all summer and fall camp, I suggest they be moved back

Jancek: sounds good, I will let them know they are moving back to what they worked on before

suggestion: Jenkins
decision: Jancek

So everyone can defend it by saying “we don’t have the players for Man” but obviously we don’t have the players for zone either. We have at least a chance of knowing our assignments in man

we have some players that can play man but struggle in zone

we have some that can play zone but struggle in man

everyone struggles with angles, tackles and adjustments

so trying to find five guys that can enough of both schemes to let you mix it up is proving tough to do

Last 13 P5 games:

40
35
20
31
10
38
50
7
45
14
31
55
39

9/13 last P5 games have given up 31+ points.

2 of the 4 that were under 31? Akry ice rink bowl and Purdue with their actual offensive players opting out.

The other two were MSU's awful offense this year, and Ole Miss (actually a good second half but started awful).

In the end, he's been awful and the stats show it.

Ok, we're dead last in the SEC. Do you think the talent level is less than Vanderbilt? Id say the talent level is probably top 5 in the SEC and the production is last.

as of today we have played the
#13 offense in the country (yards per game) in Ole Miss (road)
#22 in Mizzou (road)
#42 in FSU (neutral site)
#81 in Moo State (road)
#110 in Arky (home)

Where do these rank if you remove LSU games out?

and a glorified GA as your position coaches.

Who might that be?

John Jancek has over 30 years of coaching experience, many as a Defensive Co-Ordinator (including several stops as DC in the SEC); who is serving as DL coach. Jancek Bio

Bob Diaco has many years of coaching experience and several as a d coordinator and head coach. Diaco Bio

Kerry Cooks has been coaching for over 20 years.

So who is this glorified GA of which you speak, or are you just talking out your arse.

No, and I think saying “we aren’t 14th in the SEC” is a perfectly valid point.

I don’t know about top 5, but I would definitely agree it’s not last.

But I also don’t think it has to be boiled down to coaching or talent or experience. It’s a combination of all of these things IMO.

Also, not counting the bowl game which I believe is reasonable.

End of last season P5 - 32.7 ppg

So far this season P5 - 36.8 ppg

In reality, the defense was mediocre to bad to finish last season, so it is more about his system than people want to let on.

He's coaching an over-complicated system much like Tepper did, and the players are getting all of the blame. They definitely are somewhat responsible, but the system sucks, and then add on that he's been mediocre on the recruiting trail and you get them settling for transfers over and over.

After Saturday his defenses have given up 31pts in 9 of 20 games. He constantly tries to run soft zone coverages in which the players, mainly the secondary, are confused and don't know what their responsibilities are. My biggest issue is his Absolute refusal to bring any kind of pressure leaving an already confused secondary stuck in No Mans Land!

House is the highest paid DC in college
The results are terrible. And not just this season.
At the end of the season, find someone who is worthy of that price tag because he’s not.

His Failure to find a spot for perkins is job terrible. NOt making in game adjustments, not making sure a DL coach was hired,( he should of told Kelly this is Imperative), Failure to recruit top players, NOt mixing coverages( very vanilla- no deguise of coverages, Wrong Personnel in game, not playing best players

He is coordinating the worst defense in major CFB, statistically speaking. So there's that.

Somebody gets it, need to pressure the QB to get a few more negative plays or turnover to get another stop or two during the game.
