I paid $55 for the same synthetic blend last year. Damn you inflation!

They probably didn't change anything but the sticker if you went to the waiting room.

You paid $55 for an oil change that lasted you a year?

Go to Walmart or get a Midas coupon.

I take my truck to the dealership where I bought it for all maintenance. $80 for an oil change is normal. But I understand your frustration. If not for the fact I expense all my vehicle maintenance, I’d be pissed.

I drive a Rivian and don't miss oil changes and getting FUD about transmission fluid.

Some of these oil places are getting as desperate as dealerships. One just got my wife for $100 for an oil change. Said she felt like prey as they kept coming back over and over trying the hard sell on shite and getting mad when she refused. (They ultimately got her with the synthetic change before she realized.) Said she did better than another guy, though, because he was trying to figure out how his bill was $200. Told her I'll take the cars from now on.

Price out what it cost to DIY… probably $35 cheaper. Not exactly highway robbery
Now a certain German dealership charges $200 for oil change
That said I changed my own in 4 cars

Build back better, Jack.
Every oil change place I've been to in the last decade will allow you to bring your own fluids and fitters, and will charge you a nominal amount ($20-30).

80 bucks is cheap, you drive a car?

Sorry you poor. Company vehicle cost $0.

Last time I got an oil change I went to one of those express places and had to argue to get real oil. They wanted to give me $80 synthetic oil for my bottom of the line Versa. I'll be going back to my regular spot next time.

I pay $120 for an oil change, but that’s 10k oil. I look at it like this, I can pay the $35-$45 oil change, that’s only good for 3k miles.
It comes out the same.
And for people that say oil changes are now too expensive, back in 1991, I worked at Jiffy Lube. A basic oil change 32 years ago was $26.
