So..."as long as we are better than Notre Dame, it is all good" is where we are as a program?!?

so we're comparing ourselves to ND now? that's the bar?
It’s a fair comparison.
Same year of coaching turnover. Same amount of games played, etc.
The comparison to Freeman has be constant. He was desired by many on the board and I still see the comparison being made consistently - which is what caused Mahtook to create that thread.
It’s certainly more appropriate to compare to ND than to Alabama or UGA who have had established coaches and programs for 5+ years.

I mean as of now Notre Dame is in a better spot than LSU both on the field and in recruiting. Until LSU surpasses Notre Dame I’m not sure that LSU fans really have any room to talk.

He's simply not a very good recruiter even with the LSU advantages compared to Notre Dame.
It’s currently a top ten class that addresses the secondary. Need more focus on DLine, but not in the camp of trashing the effort because 3 main prospects went elsewhere.
What exactly is the issue with our current recruiting effort? Beyond “it sucks.”

There was one play Sat night where Dart made a bad throw, probably a miscommunication on the route.
The ball went straight to the defender (who was 10 ft away to your point)
But instead of an easy int, the db never sees it. And instead leaps at the receiver. Effectively diving away from the ball.
I peeled a bit of paint off my walls on that one.

Why compare Kelly to the new ND coach? LSU has to worry about winning games in the SEC, also Marcus Freeman is a rookie HC. Kelly has been a head coach for years now and since coming to LSU all of his losses are blowouts
Brian Kelly has been a head coach in the NCAA since 1991, for reference Marcus Freeman was BORN in 1986

What?
Lost by 1 to FSU last season and just lost by 6 to OM. I know you people are melting, but so many of you are just flat out making shite up.
ETA: 11 point loss to MSU at Home
37 point loss at Auburn
17 point loss at Texas AM
38 point loss at home to Bama
11 point loss at UCLA
21 point loss at UK
14 point loss at OM
22 point loss (Bowl vs. KSU)
Those were from 2020 and 2021 alone. You people need to step back from the ledge.

Will they be addressed? Yes.
When? By whom? In what manner?
After Saturday, it's hard to invest confidence on any level with this staff.
To counter Mikie, Freeman is in what his 2nd year as a HC? And CBK is in year 33. And yet he's (we're) making rookie mistakes.

comparing how his old team is doing without him seems relevant.

Most fans were incredibly excited and supportive of the job Kelly did last season.
This year they expectations relative to last season were, justifiably so, much higher. That wasn't just "delusional" LSU fans. Objective observes/analyst felt that was as well considering LSU was ranked 5th to start the season and was among the top 10 in odds to win the NC. Those rankings/odds don't guarantee success. But they do give a perspective of the wider perception of the team heading into the season.
LSU then lost to FSU. It was a disappointing way to begin the season. But at least most could justify that FSU is also a really good team.
Last Saturday night though is a different story. LSU scored 49 points, on the road, and LOST because their defense gave up 55 points and allowed the most yards to be gained by an opponent in a game in the 130 year history of LSU football. Ole Miss isn't a bad team. But I think you'd be hard pressed to find ANY coach who would tell you scoring 49 points on the road and losing is justifiable.
In the big picture has Kelly done a "bad" job at LSU to date? No. But in no way does, or should it, excuse what is right now a complete coaching failure on the defensive side of the ball.
Two separate truths can co-exist. Kelly hasn't done a bad job overall. Yet, the coaching staff has done a horrible job with the defense thus far in this season.

I don’t see how this reinforces your point this is why Ed O got paid millions to go away

Will they be addressed properly is the better question.
Last year it was special teams.
Did BK remove one of his best friends fm Special Teams? Yes
Do I expect him to fix this defense? Yes
Question: Is the problem skeem or Jimmy's & Joe's? I hold it is the latter. We need coaches who can win those battles for the 5 star's vs. the Texa$ $chool$

Well, you posted that every loss under Kelly has been a blowout, which is flat out incorrect.
So, in response, I noted the 8 (yes e-i-g-h-t) double digit losses that LSU suffered in 2020 and 2021. That is melt worthy.
Did you really think LSU was going to be back to winning championships 2 years after back to back losing seasons and a completely gutted roster?

This same exact defense was fine last year. That tells me it works as long as the players can grasp it. This year they clearly are not grasping it, so it's time to adjust. House has to show that he can fit to his players and not just force his players to fit to his scheme.

His tweet was responding to someone comparing Freeman to Kelly. That person cherry picked the last 13 games to leave our loses Marshall and Stanford.

LSU gave up 2x the yards Tulane gave up to Ole Miss. That’s not as much about scholarship players or what you inherited - it’s about shite coaching imo.

I can't tell you how many times I'm screaming Turn Around at db's during the game.
It's fundamental and it's on coaching. A perfect pass beats you either way, but I haven't seen many perfect passes beating them. I have seen plenty of interception potential though if turned around.

I’m not sure what his point is.
No one cares about what Marcus freeman is doing at Notre dame or what Notre dame or Marcus freeman is doing.
