re: Ok ill chime in on Verge.

I grew up in New Iberia. Verge Sr. was my principal at Freshman High, and I had classes with Verge.

It's easy for stud football players to be too cool, maybe even conceited when in high school.

Verge was a super friendly guy, a great student and though his dad was quite the disciplinarian, he did his job with class.
Classy, educated, and hardworking people are how I remember that family.

Then Verge put on the purple and gold, and sold out on the field game after game.

I cannot bash this guy, we all learn lessons through failure and I choose to believe this guy can get it done.
He's LSU through and through and it's his time to shine. I say he redeems himself quite well moving forward.

Yep. I live here. It was a monsoon.

re: WR depth- good thing or bad?

I think it's a great thing!
These w.r.'s are not your average room...these are ALL very good players. The position is a position that gets it's fair share of ankle, foot, leg injuries. While all are not significant, we can rest players who are at 75%.
The speed and ability in this entire group make the depth an asset.
So I live outside of Clemson, have for many years. Worked at the university for a few years in early 2000's.
I've been wearing purple and gold here since day 1. They don't like us, they respect us because we have beaten them pretty much every time we play. Exception being the les miles clock management debacle in the peach bowl.

They have a very good squad but...I believe if we show up prepared and bring our A game....We win.

Lots of chatter here about Klubnik and W.R.'s....no problem with that.
Lots of talent....but they don't play well when there's a talented defense lined up opposite of their offense. If our defense improves as i suspect we have....they score under 20.

The d line is over rated. Espn and the talking heads rave over this group....but the locals here in the media do not!! In fact....Woods is considered an under achieving player.

In the end, it will be a tough atmosphere and they have talent, but do your research....they don't play anyone! When they do....they don't look so elite.

I think this young man has the potential to be a very good quarterback. He's also been a solid tiger thus far.
Does Ju'juan Johnson get moved and considered to play q.b.?
Portal has worked well previously.
Optimistic about the future at this position.
Nice! Not everyone will get it. But....Great reference.

Embrace the Villains

Mulkey and this team are embracing the scrutiny and hate.
We should too.

I watched this kids film prior to getting his commitment and he was a thumper, a big time thumper.
With our lack of aggressive tackling and him being 6'3" 196 we could use that type of safety.
Any word on this young man and if he's injured?
He was one of those in the last class that I thought could see the field as a freshman.
I can't tell you how many times I'm screaming Turn Around at db's during the game.

It's fundamental and it's on coaching. A perfect pass beats you either way, but I haven't seen many perfect passes beating them. I have seen plenty of interception potential though if turned around.
God I love seeing this!
My Florida hate is never satisfied.
I live in SC now, 15 minutes from Clemson.
He absolutely is feeling heat.
He's vehemently said no to the portal, and replaced coordinators in house.
This year he brought in Riley from TCU for OC, but many feel He's fallen behind and hasn't kept up with the changes in college football.
FSU loaded up in the portal and so did Colorado, the "Clempson" fans are becoming restless.
As an LSU fan, I enjoy the melt.
27-17 LSU
We get a special teams score.
Joey B because he willed his team to win, was the ultimate leader and the swag.

Top 5
Burrow, Hester, Tyran, Patrick P.
Dorsey

Baskerville, Penn Jr., Perkins

This should be our starting linebackers EVERY week.
Sure…. We have to rotate in and thats a given, but only to keep them fresh.
These 3 should play as many snaps as possible.

Week after week these are your most talented and consistent L.B.’s.

We have a big enough sample size now. The remaining players are for depth only.
Let’s Geaux!!

Man I’m glad someone else noticed that this guy doesn’t impact the game or scare anyone.

My wife and I were watching the pregame Saturday and she said wow that guy looks like a beast…. That number 11

I said you see how clean his uniform is? When the game is over it will be just as clean.
Absolutely not a high caliber LSU edge guy. He does little to nothing.

Physicality

Posted by CarolinaBayou on 8/30/22 at 7:49 pm
I’ve been a tiger since the 70s
and physicality was always a staple of LSU football.
Sure some years we were not physically dominant and succeeded (19), but that team was just special.
But most of my most proud moments were when we simply lined up and fought you tooth and nail for 60 minutes.

I think BK understands the need to be physical and to be dominant through physicality.
We will see this year…. With that said, I think we see a more physical and fit team right out of the gate. That’s exciting!
I believe we will hit hard and play hard.
Let’s Geaux!!!
