Why run the roll-out on 3rd and 5?

Forcing Nabers to get open on a condensed field with no other options for JD5 to throw it to. No chance for JD5 to scramble either. Makes no sense considering how open the middle of the field was all game.

Why not run the ball and go for it on 4th if you don’t make it. Piss poor coaching

It was one of the worse play calls I have ever seen considering JD had made alll the right decisions all game. You then call a play that allows for nothing. The right play call was a run on 3rd and pass on 4th if needed

Hard to shite on anything the offense did but yeah that was an awful play call.

Worst call of the game and it came in a crucial spot.

Was a terrible call. We had to convert that first down to win the game. Everyone knew Ole Miss was going to score if they got the ball back. We absolutely had to either score on that drive or run the clock out to win the game and it was obvious the way the game was going.

708 yards given up and you’re quibbling about an offensive play call in a game we scored 49 points.

Amazing.

The only thing I can think is that there had to be something they were seeing that they though they could exploit. That situation is tailor made for a read option hand off, run, pass option. There was very little time, but the time out was there in the back pocket. If nothing is there, get down, timeout.

I can't remember A more awful play call given the circumstances.

Drop Jayden back in the pocket. Not only is there a high probability he's going to be able to throw for an easy 5 yards..... If the pocket collapses he could back pedal in slow motion for 5 yds before defender would be near him. Not to mention you have the option of running on third down..... With the mindset of going for it on 4th down.

But not only is there an awful play call, but then you're telling us that you have more confidence in the defense preventing a fg, Then you have in your prolific offense getting 5 yards on two plays.

Absolutely pathetic and inexcusable

Kelly and/or Denbrock decided to try and get cute and run clock once we got to the 50. So we were trying to do a little cute 6 yard play to just move the chains but keep the clock running.

Same reason the play before was an obvious telegraphed run up the middle. They were treating it like had 2 min left and a good defense instead of 5 min left and an incredibly shitty defense

Give how defense was performing, LSU should have played every down as if they were going for it on 4th down the entire game. The last punt with a little over 2 minutes left to gain 15 yards better field position was the biggest mistake of the game.

This play was a subject of discussion in my viewing party when it took place and failed. Just why?

I mentioned this last night. The defense was terrible. However you run a pass to RB on first down, he drops it. Terrible call being how good the run game had been. Then on third down you fricking run a two wide receiver route (les miles). Then with 12 seconds left you run another pass to the RB in triple coverage. We should have won this game despite the defense this is just as bad as the clock management last week.

Sometimes coaches are enamored with themselves. This staff is in love with the roll out play. Problem is that the way they designed it gives you a one receiver option. They don’t run a honor flag over the top. Just send the motion guy to the flat. They ran similar plays in short yardage situations against FSU. They didn’t work either.

With 2 downs to get a first. Counter or sweep twice or rpo. Call of the game to me

I thought it was a play all that stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the game when I saw it. Very conservative.

OK we will stop using our brains.
