So a few years ago the medical world was of the mind set to keep people out of pain. Evidently, it improved their patient ratings. Then the pendulum swung the other way so pain killers were tightly restricted.

Rite Aid didn't write prescriptions and they were obligated to fill them, but now they have a 3 billion dollar judgement for filling prescriptions doctors wrote.

At least now there is a database that can track how many prescriptions for what kind of narcotic Dr. Feelgoods provided to a junkie.

The company's multibillion-dollar debt load and pending legal allegations that it oversupplied prescription painkillers, will be covered under the Chapter 11 filing, the report said last month.

Oh noes - I may have to drive FOUR blocks to find a pharmacy.

Actually, to find two pharmacies - because, sure as shite, there will be one on the opposite corner.

I honestly wasn’t really aware Rite Aid was still a thing. All I see anymore are CVS and Walgreens.

The rise of grocery store/walmart pharmacies should probably be taken into consideration also.

Friend,

How much of the opioid epidemic in America do you believe lays at the feet of The Joint Commission?

No love lost for Rite-Aid but it’s ridiculous they are liable for filling prescriptions written by doctors. That’s what they do. They do not prescribe, just fill based on physician’s orders. Are they not supposed to fill the prescriptions????

The entire Sackler family and many doctors need to be headed to jail prior to rite aid being held liable for filling the prescriptions a doc wrote

Had a friend that worked at Rite Aid who let me buy a case of Crown for half price using a fake ID when I was 19.

That’s all I got.

Walmart pharmacy the GOAT

I used to like cvs. But honestly the customer service behind the counter in any New Orleans cvs is atrocious.

I switched all our stuff to a local pharmacy. A million times better except for the hours.

There are now and will be more plenty of empty buildings on many corners which quickly turn to blight. Plenty around BR.

That said I haven’t used any of those chains for years and can’t remember the last time I’ve entered one. I’ve used Albertsons Sav On and they have great service and are cheaper even than Wal Mart.

I worked for K&B 25+ years ago when I was in college. It was a great college job and cool company. Rite Aid bought them out and started buying out and closing all the mom n pops they could get their hands on. The company sucked. I quit about 6 months later. My family uses a little mom n pop local pharmacy and it's great as long as you can handling their hours. On a side note, I miss that k&b ice cream.
