If you can get anything for Jameis take it. He's not worth a pick, honestly. 3rd would be like winning the lottery but no team would do that.

I would not trade him. We don’t have a viable backup right now

He’s worth more as a backup to us. You forfeit the season if you have to use Haener at any time

Eh.. the moment we trade him is the moment Carr gets hurt.

Id still take Jameis over the other backup options.

Thats not a ringing endorsement of Jameis but there are no other options that could play right away if needed.

Hill needs to be used in the role he currently is in. We have no RBs at the moment.

Haener most likely aint ready either

Depends on the pick. If they get desperate in a trade and give us a high pick you take it and run. It's worth risking the season on. This team isn't going anywhere anyway honestly. Might make the playoffs if the division is terrible but they'll get bounced in the first round. Hard to imagine this team will be injury free to keep the great defense together for the playoffs.

You have a point too though. Carr probably won't survive half this season with this OL.

I don’t think we are winning many games with Jameis. I think the hope is that Jameis could deliver 2-2 if needed.

I think Taysom is just as likely to be able to do that. And if we need more than that it’s a moot point.

We're mid-season. He's worth more to the Saints as a backup right now than a late round draft pick.

Minimum I would probably take is a 3rd rounder.

Min would be a 4th.

I know that's not likely but as stated we are 2-0 with an elite defense and an offense that won't be starting to gel till mid-season. This is not a SB favorite team like the 2018 Saints but this is a team that should only get better as the season wears on.

Jameis won't win us a SB but if needed for a period of time could keep us in those games at .500

That's worth more than a flier pick at the end of the draft

frick NO ... have you seen our line? Hell, I would be looking into putting Siemian or another journeyman on our practice squad on account of our dogshit offensive line.

At this point in the season, they need to give a ton to get Jamies. You trade JW, you also lose Hill in the offense until you’re ready to roll w Haener as your backup. And even then, you have to wait for his 6 game PED suspension to play out for him to be available.

And without knowing the extent of the Williams injury and when Miller will be back; Hill is needed in that RB room for at least 1 more game.

Nobody is trading a 3rd or 4th for him.

He’s worth more than a 6th or 7th to us.

A 5th would be a hard choice. I would have to see if someone became available as a backup. With Olave and Shaheed at WR, Winston could light it up and with our defense that might still win most games.

He’s 6-4 starting for us with inferior offensive talent

Neat opinion

This. It’s really not worth it from a Saints standpoint to give up our only backup, and probably the best backup in the league.

So, you think he'd deliver 2-2? Maybe even 3-1? Like I said, that's the hope.

Are you saying he'd do better than .600 over the long haul? I disagree. But, if he could, we 100% shouldn't have paid Carr.

Disagree

If we need Jameis for 4-5 games, he's capable to keep us afloat. That's worth much more than a 7th rounder to this team right now.
