Putting the band back together.

The university announced it has raised $100 million in one week in support the school's big move.

Per the release, the commitments are via "a group of thirty donors that includes trustees and key donors," both alumni and non-alumni.

Rhett Lashlee is a good up-and-coming coach.
Arkansas should be thinking about him in their future plans in my opinion.

The ACC move is opening up the pocket books. All my SMU alumni friends are donating $. It is also fired up the local media here. SMU won’t win the ACC but they will be very competitive.

I wish, I really wish I had millions of dollars to donate to a university so that they could join a conference with zero payment.

I wish my life was so set up that donating $100,000’s or $1,000,000’s to something. Anything.

Even as the 5th or 6th instate option in Texas, and battling OOS programs like LSU, Oklahoma and Alabama, they’re going to have a solid recruiting base. After FSU, Miami and Clemson it’s probably fourth in the ACC. They’ll compete
in that conference better than they would the BIg 12.

this was such a strange concession to make to join the ACC. Especially for that long, considering the ever changing landscape of cfb.
I imagine there's language in there somewhere that addresses conf realignment scenarios

Not so sure. If the school and donors are in you can flip a roster and start winning immediately. What is going on at Colorado is going to excite a lot of programs and make them start believing that they too can do it as long as they're willing to throw some money around.

Not really considering they weren’t making much in the AAC. Lots of other benefits.

It’s probably why they agreed to it. Knowing that the landscape will change. Being in with the P5 is more important than the payout. Especially when things will shake up again.
