Have you ever been vaccinated against rabies?

Yesterday, I was opening a patio umbrella when a bat fell out and landed on the back of my hand. He either bit or scratched me on the ring finger. Regardless, it broke the skin and the local health department recommended I get the vaccine and immune globulin asap.
The vaccine was just a small shot in the arm, but the globulin was a son of a bitch. They squirted it all around the wound with a giant frick-you needle, then spread the rest of it around my body with seven other shots of the same sized needle. I get several more vaccine shots in the coming days.
I know it's better than getting rabies, but I give the whole rabbies shot process a 0/10. Do not recommend. I've also heard I'm in for a nice invoice.
Any of yall ever had it? I'm the only one I've known get it, but I'm sure it has to be more common than I think it is. The ER intake nurse looked at me funny when I got there and was like, "pardon me? A what bit you?"
Csb.

Congrats on the pending insatiable thirst for human blood.

I’ve never had it but my brother had to get it when we were younger when he was bit by a neighbor’s dog who didn't gave their shots.
The shots are terrible.
Michael Scott appreciates your awareness though.

Yeah. Rabies vax sucks.

I was going to make a joke about what happens if you get, but after a quick google search I'm strongly encouraging you to finish the treatment.
Ts&Ps. Don't be roaming the streets of Gotham neither.

I haven’t, but a close friend of mine did a few years ago. fricking awful, and fricking expensive

Don’t go back. You got the hyper immune globulins. Unless some test comes back positive, you’re good

I’ve had 3 of the shots.
Was in an oilfield emergency response position that required potential travel to extremely remote areas. The shots were basically a contingency plan that would keep the illness at bay for a short until I could get to better medical care in the case I was bitten.
The shots suck, but it sure beats a nearly 100% fatal disease when symptoms present. There are a few videos of late stage rabies victims- very creepy.

Don’t do it. They gonna slip you the jab cause sales been declining.

Sounds shitty but rabies is basically fatal should you contract it.
And it's a horrible death along the way.
Your choice but I'd pick the shots.

Yeah the shots suck, but as said above it’s a horrible way to go. There’s some videos on YT if interested. And to my knowledge only 2 people have survived since those records have been kept.

Yes…..one summer i had a job catching bats in the woods so had to be vaccinated. It was an awesome job. Vaccine shots were no big deal.

The shots are better than rabies, by far, unless you prefer near certainty of death...

Congrats on the autism. You would've been better off with rabies, my friend

Yes. Got scratched by a bat that got in my chimney and hid in a Christmas tree before I took it out.
A ton of small shots all over, but obviously better than dying. Did get sick feeling after each round.

I got it when I was 7 years old back in 1966. Back then it was a daily shot in the abdomen for 14 days. The first one was traumatic, and it gradually got "easier" each day. Not anything I'd wish on anyone. Fortunately I didn't turn rabid. Lol.
BTW, I caught a little field mouse and it bit my finger. Needless to say I leave them be these days.

My granddad got it back in the day when it was a series of shots in the stomach. Supposedly very painful.
