still no answer as to how Douglas and Miracle happened
Tyson overlooked him, figured he was another bum that was afraid of him. Douglas had size and gave the fight of his life.

Villanova over Georgetown is up there.
Only because of Villanova's NCAAT seeding (8). But if you go back to the season you'll see the upset wasn't that implausible.
Georgetown lost 2 games in the regular season by a combined 3 points to St. Johns and Syracuse. Both top 10 teams. Otherwise, they really controlled the Big East...except for Villanova. In the first matchup between the two Georgetown won by 2 in OT. In the second game Georgetown won by 7 at home. That's not necessarily a "close" game. But it is considering that was the smallest margin of victory by Georgetown in the entire month of February and March leading into the NCAAT.
Villanova played a lot of good teams very close that year but just couldn't quite get over the hump in most of them. Fortunately, they did at the exact right time.
Villanova wasn't a good matchup for Georgetown even though Georgetown won both of the prior games. Considering how good Georgetown was that season it was still a big upset. But maybe the last team Georgetown wanted to see in the Finals was Villanova.

For college basketball tournament games, Middle Tennessee beating a loaded Michigan State team in the first round in 2016 has to be up there. They were a 2 seed and not a 1, but that looked like a classic Izzo team that was peaking going into the tournament.

Exactly. ULM upset a then top 10 ranked Arkansas in 2012. 2007 Alabama was 6-4 and had just lost to Mississippi State for the second straight year.
Arkansas went 4-8 in 2012
ULM made their arse quit the season.

Leicester City winning the English Premier League in 2016. Basically a 38 game upset. 5000/1 betting odds at the start of the season
and before them, the 1999 Rams had the longest odds of any pro champion.

Appy State over Michigan
That wasn't even the biggest upset that season.
Appy State would have destroyed the 4-8 Stanford team that beat USC (who was arguably better than Michigan) that season. Stanford was a shitty team that was starting a backup QB that had never started a game before.

Biggest upset...the fact that anyone in the US cares about soccer as a sport...so many better options domestically and hell internationally (rugby, Australian rules, etc)

Which is why I said *then*. Alabama went 7-6 in 2007 yet some of y'all are trying to call it the biggest upset in "the history of sports"

Giants over Patriots in 2007 has to be up there, but probably that hockey game
Yeah the Pats were undefeated, but it was still the superbowl.

They were a Division 1, P5, Conference foe! Upsets happen to Conference foes...all the fricking' time!
This isn't losing to an FCS school that lost to fricking' Wofford!
People so overhype the USC-Stanford upset only because of the massive betting line w/o knowing Vegas knows bettors love betting USC (for or against) and the line swelled b/c USC had so much action on them because they were overrated that year.

Good ole Baw Chris Moneymaker over Sammy Farha in 2003 WSOP.

USC had won recently and could easily get back to that level in the future. WVU is the winningest program without a national title and Pitt ruined the best chance they'll ever have. That's why 13-9 lingers in the public consciousness while the one you mentioned is relatively forgotten despite the larger point spread.

This is the answer because of the consistency of it. Most anyone can win on a given day, but to win an entire league like the EPL is absolutely ridiculous.
