UPS makes great deal for drivers - high 6 figures

While we worry about the greatest President ever, his successor has been hard at work getting unions to accept the UPS demands.
Biden’s famous adoration of ice cream has really only been paralleled or eclipsed by his love for this middle class. His campaign premise to revive the average American quickly led to a new word: Bidenomics, a portmanteau (much like Obamanomics, Reaganomics before, or Hobama as of late), that refers to, in Biden’s own words: “building an economy from the middle out and the bottom up, not the top down.”
Unions and Biden Might Save Middle Class

Is the bad link supposed to mean something?

How did Biden do for the drivers at Yellow/Roadway?
and btw, drivers for Fed Ex, Fed-Ex Freight, and Fed-Ex Custom Critical are non-union.

It is very hard to count the number of very stupid people on this board. I would say I am happy for the UPS drivers but just down the road, the union bankrupted Yellow and their 30,000 employees.
Biden nor anyone in government had nothing to do with it.

Oh I can promise you I only use UPS if I have no other choice. The hogwash praise in the article towards Biden should be against the law.

"High" 6 figures means almost 7 figures.
What's being reported in around $170,000 a year for drivers.
That's a lot for driving around delivering packages, but it's not high six figures.

I still would like all this explained to me. UPS pays 170k a year to the drivers. Pays medical, retirmeement, etc. Pays for trucks and running UPS. In order to profit, they must raise prices.
Who uses UPS the most? Middle class. So, prices rise at Publix, at the gas statiion, on UPS deliveries and transportation. How does that benefit the middle class?
All it is is printing so much money that it is becoming fake for everyone but the middle class.

$170k to drive truck?
Edit: $170k is total compensation so not the exact same thing. I read it was like $49/hr.

And I can assure that is not averaging 40 hrs per week...

It isn’t easy.
It’s more like 95$k and the rest are benefits. Some drivers make over 120$K and they kill themselves for it or have no home life.

What happens when UPS does like fedex and farms it all out to independent contractors?

Now apply this logic to tariffs and domestic manufacturing.

When you factor in:
1) the potential for injuries via car accidents and lifting/dropping heavy items
2) the wear and tear on your body over many years
3) having to drive and walk around in unsafe areas
The pay should be good.

Prior to the new deal, the company said drivers earned about $95,000 in pay annually on average or about $42 an hour, and another $50,000 in benefits

For drivers, the Teamsters union, which represents more than 300,000 UPS staff, said the new contract would provide a pay boost of $2.50 an hour this year and $7.50 an hour over the five years of the deal.

Good =/= high six figures for that job.

You know what drives inflation?
It isn’t a UPS driver earning
Government bureaucracy, corporate greed and purely evil elites more so do that.
