I also don’t have a problem with the market responding by contracting out that labor.

So you have a problem with Trump's philosophy on international trade, right?

I have several degrees, can outrun, outlift, out drive and out think most UPS drivers.

This is why the car industry failed and this is why it’s gonna cost $90 to mail that snow globe or fruitcake to your grandma from 3 hours away.

I can guarantee you know absolutely jack shite about running a business.

This is how you bankrupt a business.

I’d sell that motherfricker to FedEx. Or fire everybody and start over.

What’s the median salary in the US?

According to the census median household income in 2021 was ~71k.

frick off. It’s a truck driver position. And they are home everyday

No offense truck drivers

Where is all this vitriol for factory workers in Trump's America?

If specific policies of that philosophy run counter to the free market, then yes I do.

Next you’re going to ask me if I have a problem with Trump’s bump stock ban and support of red flag laws.

The people in here bitching about UPS are making the same arguments others make against Trump's redistributive leftist economic policies.

It's about intellectual consistency. Either you're free market or you're not. Trump is not.

The 170,000 is for the big rig drivers, not the local delivery ones.

I hope for the sake of your university’s reputation, one of those esteemed degrees isn’t in any business field.

Yes. You take a Fortune 500 company with 100 billion in revenue, that moves parcels around the clock, that serves 220 different countries and territories, and delivers 25 million parcels a day, has over a half million employees, and you fire everyone on a whim.

THATS how you save a company.

Hmmm.

Not sure what time they punch in but I see my UPS guy still driving at 7pm sometimes so they must do some serious overtime too.

It’s usually 8AM. It can vary slightly from center to center.

But OT is mandatory. It’s rare a UPS driver doesn’t work OT.

So that six figure earnings some people are stomping their feet about is with sometimes 10 hours a week or more in OT. Not just 8 hour days.

Yes ... LOL, but apparently you do not. Government spending (not bureaucracy) ... too many dollars chasing after too few goods caused by the DEM spending. Corp greed and evil elites?

Another thing that can drive up inflation is wages ... caused by unions (and politicians). Other than for safety, unions do little to help workers and our country.

... I worked for UPS and was a member of the Teamsters... screw the Teamsters.

"You know what drives inflation? It isn’t a UPS driver earning. Government bureaucracy, corporate greed and purely evil elites more so do that. "

You vote democrat anyway so why do you take issue with the policies of Trump not being free market enough?

Liberal types think if you just magically paid everyone hundreds of thousands of dollars then everyone would be rich and happy.

Not how it works.

And they’d have to be married to that truck 24/7 to make $170k.

Because Fedex contracts their deliveries out to independent contractors. Your local Fedex driver doesn’t actually work for Fedex.
