What is the OB's favorite or preferred hunting bullet? Not asking for specific caliber or cartridge, just the projectile. And worst/least preferred bullets as well...

Depends on the shot I plan to take really, and I have certain guns that like certain bullets.

Hornday SST 250gr for the muzzleloader.

Still figuring out the rifle. 1 for 1 using Winchester XP ballistic tip in the 55 year old 30-06, haven't hunted yet with new rifle.

Nosler Accubond

I’ve got all of those stocked up in every caliber I hunt with.

Depends on what I'm hunting; for tough animals like Elk or when long range shots at deer are a possibility I like Nosler Acubonds. Nosler Partitions are stout but I have never gotten much in the way of accuracy out of them.

For deer at normal ranges a basic cup-and-core bullet like Hornady Interlock or Speer HotCore is what I go to.

General purpose answer is nosler partitions for me. Hard to find and very expensive though. I've been shooting norma oryx the past few seasons and I like them alot.

Next will be speer grand slam since I found a lot of them for cheap.

Least favorite is hornady SST. Very fragile bullet.

Winchester Super X and Hornaday American Whitetail are my favorites. Both easy to find, cheap enough and plenty accurate/reliable for me across multiple calibers

I bought a few boxes of Norma Whitetail Soft Point last year and my initial impressions with those are positive as well.

I've switched to Nosler Accubond in most of my rifles the last few seasons. I like them.
