Colorado Springs is nothing like what it used to be…it was a red county with 5 military bases and low population…now it’s a purple county with 5 military bases full of Biden’s troops and overpopulated and overpriced.

Eh... as much as I love NC, it's basically the same as Atlanta and the Deep South. Hot as hell in the summer, mild winter.

Given the average low for Winston Salem is 68 right now and it's been 80 in Baton Rouge, I'd have to disagree.

And, as I mentioned, drive a couple hours to Banner Elk or the like to cool off. It rarely goes above 79 there.

East central Tennessee

Weather is pretty mild
You may get a white Christmas every few years or a white Mardi Gras. July and August are hot but not like the Deep South.

Average highs and lows
January 47° / 27°
February 52° / 30°
March 62° / 37°
April 71° / 45°
May 78° / 55°
June 86° / 64°
July 89° / 68°
August 88° / 67°
September 83° / 60°
October 72° / 47°
November 61° / 37°
December 51° / 31°

lots of beauty to explore year round like the south Cumberland mountain range. I’d move there in a second if I could. (Job keeps us in BR)

An hour away from Farragut is what travel and leisure just ranked as the 5th best hike in the country for “hikes in national parks”
Charlies Bunion Hike, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
charlies bunion hike

I could go on and on about the beauty in that part of the country, but the weather is nice too for most of the year and there’s a real fall

I enjoy the winters, outside of the freak days where it gets below -20 (it was -47 at my place right before Christmas), but I understand that and 400+ inches of snow is a hard sell for a lot of baws.

How many months of that do you have to endure? My husband wants to retire there one day. That’s a long long ways off. (He got this idea years before Yellowstone came out.)

we stayed in a little town called west Yellowstone, Montana. Not much there, really. It was near the west gates of the park.

Thought it would lovely to retire there. Maybe I could make jewelry and sandwiches at a little shop to stay busy. We started talking…
Then a a couple days later i said you know, it’s July. It’s not so great in the winter. I’m pretty sure most of the locals leave for the winter. Lol

First time I flew in there was a trip to Yosemite in August back 15 years or so. Had shorts and flip flops on. Was freezing waiting for the tram to get to the rental car. Couldn’t have been higher than 60 degrees.

Drive less than an hour, stop in Livermore for lunch and it’s at least 90 degrees. Wild

Met an old couple up in northern Maine who lived in a big RV. They'd stay in Maine half of the year and drive back to South Texas for the other half.

Had a bumper sticker that said, "I got a gun for my wife the other day. Best trade I ever made."

The Carolina's maybe? I remember it being pretty pleasant there in August a couple years ago.

It can snow any month of the year (seriously, I've seen it in August), but generally, it doesn't start to accumulate until late October and starts to melt at lower elevations/street level sometime around early or mid April. I'd generally say the temps are in the 20s for highs and near 0 for lows, but it can get up to the 40s and, as I said, in to JFC territory of cold.

I live about 60 miles north of there on the same highway. They're bonkers busy during summer, but during winter, you can ride snowmobiles around town - it's pretty awesome. Prices there aren't as absurd as the rest of SW Montana but still not cheap.

This is from April 1st

and you'll have to pay for it. Good luck finding anything under seven figures that doesn't need to be completely renovated or isn't inundated with homeless.

SoCal is the only area with year round awesome weather, but you have to deal with tens of millions of residents and tourists. And even more vehicles.

So outside of that, very few places that aren't rainy and cloudy as heck.

One of the best spots is west of Seattle, and receives less rain than Seattle, and more sun.

My brother and I bought a vacation home in Port Angeles Washington, for this very reason. Got a real good deal on waterfront property. If we aren't using it ourselves, then our cousins and friends are using it. Everyone agrees that it's an amazing place.Port Angeles is just west of Sequim, which is a highly liked small town of Washington.

Everyone can stop at this one. Those who live there enjoy the best year round climate in America. Has to be the most boring weather job there. “Going to be 72 and sunny today and now back to the news”

I like June gloom... It means one more month of comfortable temperatures before the summer heatwaves.
