Does frequent running of dishwasher erode plates?

Probably to some extent. I usually replace my plates every 10 or so years. Don’t think it wears them out that fast so nbd to me.

New Cascade commercial says you should run your dishwasher half full and it somehow saves money.

Do you have a link to the commercial? They have been running do dishes more often commercials for a long time and I think the point is saving water/money over handwashing not that running it every day saves money compared to running the dishwasher ever X days.

vs the water you use washing those dishes by hand I guess.

the commercial says to run it even half full, not so 2 loads half full.

the idea is if you have half a dishwasher you save water vs doing those dishes by hand

Explain this to me like Im 12

My guess is f I actually read all those buttons on the dishwasher and optimized it to the right settings, I could get to that sweet point. But I aint got time for that. I just press Start and it magically gets them done.

But, in a recent OT thread probably 70% of posters admitted that they have to handwash dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. That's when I began calling it a dishrinser.

Half full means double the loads, that's what she said, thus needing to use more pods....

Pretty easy to sum up

Then in the next thread, they will poke fun at their wives for loading it wrong, blissfully unaware they are using it wrong.

It doesn't. They deflect to the amount of water used if you hand washed instead.

But they don't point out that you use double the amount of their pods while saving a little water if you skipped a day and hand washed.

It probably means run it more often as opposed to handwashing saves water and therefore money

I’ve seen that commercial and that is exactly what they are saying.

Yeah but you waste power

And waste a cascade pod

And then you have to run it twice to do the same amount as a full load

appliances outside of the ones with heating elements and compressors use very very little power these days

Running them twice still uses twice the power of running them once.
