Chief Paul‘s resignation marks the end of an extraordinary five-and-a-half years of transformative leadership.

Chief Paul's tenure witnessed significant contributions to the community and the police department, setting a precedent for the future of Baton Rouge. His efforts have been instrumental in making monumental transformations in law enforcement standards and modernizing our department with 21st-century practices

Didn't we just have multiple years with the highest murder records in history?

Multiple kids being killed with no arrests?

They said it was “transformative.”

Reading between the lines, it was BR transforming from below average to total shithole.

Yes we did. That’s why they didn’t mention a single factual statement or stat in that nonsensical press release.

I was looking for some numbers and I came across this.. Look at all the attempted murders. If all of them would have been successful.. Wow.

Paul is not the cause of that. Just a symptom of the overall bigger problem. That problem being the mayor, majority of the metro counsel, and over half the populace of the city don't see crime as a severe impediment to functional and robust society, but rather just a somewhat inconvenient cultural norm. Thus, they see efforts by police to reduce and prevent crime as nothing more than acts of racism by law enforcement rather than a necessity to ensure a good quality of life...of all law abiding citizens...of ALL races. The irony being that the ones most often to scream racism at the mere suggestion of an actual focus to stop crime are members of communities most likely to be the VICTIMS of said crime.

So Paul is out. Great! But does anyone think the mayor is going to appoint someone with a different viewpoint or approach?

Same organization that recently gave an award to a convicted drug dealer that tried to kill a few people and was arrested again for drugs. Said they stand by him and can’t wait for his release to do more good in the community.

So not suprised….

Him being SWB’s hand puppet is part of the problem.

Dabadie told SWB to frick off and refused to do her bullshite, which eventually ended when he retired and this shitstain got hired.

Which harkens back to my point. Do you think the mayor is going to appoint a new chief that is NOT her "hand puppet?" Different person. Same outcome.

They will be a puppet but there are levels of puppet.

Someone walking into a department that is this much of a clusterfrick has power to a degree because an inability to fill that slot will be a problem for her.

Quality candidates will want control.

Lesser candidates will make different demands because they will figure they’re fricked once she is out of office.

Did Paul say why he was resigning? Got enough years and pension? Or going somewhere else?

Many, many better. Problem is, she is doing the hiring, and I doubt most of them want the job now.

Nope. It's up to the civil service commission, not the mayor. The mayor can't just fire the police chief. They can't make life hell and force retirement, a la Dabadie.

The White Progressive that owns them claps with a huge smile. This way they can keep being victims and on the plantation.

Of course the NAACP is going to lie. This is what the left does. Complete gaslighting.
