Something more than just a ride around a lake in an airboat?
Late July, taking a yankee and a west coaster.

The one right off the interstate in LaPlace is legit. We’ve taken several classes there on field trips.

We took the kids on one today, Cajun Man Swamp Tour near Houma. Def gators for two hours. Had a good time

Do an airboat ride instead. It's more expensive but a lot more fun and you won't die from the heat.

This. There are some monster gators on that one and they're trained to show up and cooperate.

Went out with Cajun Encounters many years ago and they were great.
Given that they are located on the West Pearl right at the western foot of the drawbridge that is closed, it might make for some difficulty getting there.

don’t think you could have picked a worse time of year for a swamp tour
it’ll be raining buckets or hotter than hell, no in between

I see that the Matherne family is still running their tour down in Des Allemands, Airboat Tours by Authur. It's been 20 years, but even back then they really knew the local area. Plus Spahr's Seafood is basically next door.

Just make sure to plan it when the water starts going down so perhaps a snake falls in the boat and scares the yank's back north.

Join the Louisiana National Guard and get lost during some field training exercises.

Airboat Tour by Arthur. Take the sunset tour. Wear long sleeves and safety glasses. Thank me later.

This. Really enjoyed his tour. He put us on a bunch of wildlife. Got to see a bunch of bald eagle nesting.
