Jaxson has already shown he has no maturity for the LA scene, this is a disaster waiting to happen. I am willing to bet he’s more likely to not see year 2 than he is to become a key piece of that team. He’s not as bad on the court as some on here say overall, but his defense is ridiculously bad and LeBron ain’t going to tolerate his dumbass mistakes and lack of work effort.

He's a Laker now .. no reason to pretend to like him
It takes some serious effort to be a bigger mistake than trading a 1st for Steven Adams

I cannot believe we had Garland right there and traded back for NAW and Jaxson. Frick!!!

You shouldn’t think about this. And also you shouldn’t think about the fact that the following year we picked Kira #13 and Halliburton went #12.

Those don't hurt the same to me. It sucks but we can't control what happened in that situation. Same as Mahomes going 10 and the Saints having 11. Although that may have been our fault for telegraphing who we liked. I won't be gutted if Sharpe becomes an all-star for the same reason.

ESPN is so bad. We know this, but listen to this Ramona Shelburn quote “AD doesn’t like to play the 5 and bang down low with the bigs. It takes too much out of him. They now have Jaxon Hayes, he’s a big guy who can play that role”
LMFAO

Jax became more of a team mascot than key player here. That ain’t gonna fly with those egos in LA

Didn't jaxson run over lebron last year

Perfect landing spot for that moron. He will fit right in with the rest of the douches

Hayes will go down as the third reason if this era of Pels goes down as a miss. One and Two are you know who.

Somebody on this board argued for pages that Jackson could develop into Giannis

Hopefully you never post again…

I’m no GM but I feel like the hardest thing for a GM to do is let a high draft pick walk for nothing hoping he uses it as motivation to finally put in the work to get better and then fighting the temptation to hope he never gets better.

He just can’t think the game.
My favorite memory of him was in the SVG season and they had a play where NO ONE was calling for a pick, and he tried to set literally 6 different picks on the play that no one used.
They just kept passing the ball everytime he ran up to set the pick. xD

He certainly had the natural talent to do so. He was a more gifted athlete and even a better basketball player than Giannis when Giannis was drafted. The difference is in attitude, work ethic, and desire for greatness, and that's what makes the draft so challenging -- because high school and college are such different environments, with different motivations.
People forget that all the analytics in 2019 ranked Jaxson extremely highly. In fact, they had Zion and Ja #1 and #2 of course, but #3 was essentially a tie between RJ Barrett, Jarrett Culver, and Jaxson.
Jaxson was a high-ceiling pick, not a high-floor pick. In 2019, when we were trying to figure out how to get more elite talent on the team, making a high-ceiling pick made sense.

If that’s your favorite memory of Jax, you must have never seen him Dunk. Lol
People act like it was all dogshit. He had legitimately good stretches every single season.
I would’ve been more than happy to bring him back as our Rim Running/Athletic/ Change of Pace/ Oh shite Zion is hurt again Big

The salary cost of doing that is the problem given his RFA tender was about $7m and anyone who wanted him could have easily cost us far more than that if we matched.
