Haven’t posted a Bee article in a while.

quote:

In an extremely awkward moment, six Supreme Court justices ruled that affirmative action is unconstitutional, completely forgetting that affirmative action hire Ketanji Brown Jackson was sitting right there next to them.

quote:

"Today is a sad day for anyone who was hired strictly based on their race, gender, and sexual orientation rather than qualifications," said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who was hired strictly based on her race, gender, and sexual orientation rather than qualifications. "Ah, crap... now this is awkward."

quote:

Vice President Kamala Harris, also an identity hire with no qualifications, weighed in as well, saying: "Affirmative action is affirmative, and that's good. Without affirmative action, we will have non-affirmative action which is the worst kind of action. And that's bad. HA HA HAHAHAHAHA!"

You are missing the Uncle Tom Justice, he was 100% Affirmation Action mfer pos his entire life.

I support the ruling overall but I am tired of mfers that are given advantages that put them on 3rd base all day and night then want to act like they hit a HR. Thomas is on the USSC because he was closest conservative black mfer available, he got his law degree etc completely because of Affirmative Action but apparently thinks he is a brilliant white guy. He is neither. He is dumb frick with a treasonous wife who should be in jail. He does have something in common with many black judges though, he is completely for hire.

You need to read his opinion and in particular his comments regarding Jackson’s position on affirmative action. Pretty well thought out !

TutHill is too far gone to consider other opinions.

If the GOP had any nuts, after the Supreme Court stuffs Affirmative Action in the trash bin it belongs in they would pass a bill requiring any university that receives federal dollars must have a blind exam as the sole criterion of admission.

Questionable, at a minimum.

What does this do to the media, with their Very heavy use of the Ann Coulter rule? It is strictly rooted in racism.

I know too much about him to ever read anything he allegedly writes, but I am sure his brilliant law clerks did an excellent job on it.

When I was in law school, AA candidates were accepted at much lower qualification number, the professors were required to meet with them whenever they wanted, they were given tons of additional study group time, etc etc but still most of them didn’t make it through the first year, (1/3 overall didn’t make it back then) and the school was having real difficulties get any AA students at all because why would you come here when you can get into a bunch of other good law schools that don’t still play paper chase games. I was told this personally but the schools admission director who ask for my input on this issue. (I already had advanced degrees and had some experience in this issue at another university.)

Although we were told we had blind grading, we all knew that their exams were reviewed to find extra points etc.

After my first year, there was a faculty initiative to allow AA students to stay in school with a 66 average while everyone else had to have a 68. I actually prepared transfer paperwork when I heard that I was so pissed off. (3 of my best friends were failed our second semester. None of them were on probation or anything. They didn’t get a second chance)

The vote was tied so it was broken by the chancellor who vetoed it.

We had some excellent AA law students that made it through that I am sure became great lawyers.

But I remember one if the AA guys that had basically same grades as I did get job offer after job offer etc by everyone, while I was lucky to have a few offers. His parents were both doctors and he went to private schools, grew up privileged etc and had no economic disadvantages whatsoever.

Meanwhile, I was raised by a single parent went to public schools, was in first class ever bused to a AA school in BR, (Valley Park Junior High Fighting Felons), my father died when I was 19 and i putting myself through school and worked my entire time though law school including my first year.

My point was, what had I done to hurt him or his chances at success? He already had significant advantages over me yet he was treated like a disadvantaged youth from the inner city. (I hope he cashed in big time btw, he is good dude, but he didn’t need any affirmation action Bs), while I was treated as the privileged white guy.

That’s why it is and always has been total BS to me. But they are going to do what they want to do because you can’t legislate thought process. If they want a diverse workforce they are going to hire them.

Probably will benefit Asians in college admissions more than anyone

What part of Justice KBJ' resume points to affirmative action? Almost as if the bar is lowered to just being black.

He has fully acknowledged benefiting from affirmative action. And his legal acumen is far superior to Sotomayor and Jackson.
