I remember when ambulance chasers were considered bottom feeders. At any rate, I make sure that my lawyer has a talking dog or can catch a football with one hand.

People like this are a huge reason Louisiana is the way it is. And we celebrate them. Because we are stupid.

I think LSU knows who does the most for their program

Yeah I don’t think Dudley or DeBossier bought any Jell-O shots.

I wonder how much revenue the local affiliates would lose if there were ever significant tort reform in the state

The legislature is saturated by "republicans" who are plaintiff lawyers in real life. The whole thing is fail theater. When you see anything come out of the legislature labeled as "tort reform", just know it didn't pass because they truly believed it would reform anything to point where it actually provided relief to the constituency in the form of increased competition and lower rates. Because accomplishing that would directly impact their bottom line. So when you hear people tout that "tort reform didn't lower rates!" think about why that is the case.

When we moved to the east coast one of the first things we noticed was the complete lack of injury attorney ads in any capacity and there are almost 0 billboard anytime we drive anywhere. Heavenly.

Who locally had the best/least cheesy commercials out of the personal injury attorneys?

They can't/don't say that any longer. Guess LSU realized how distasteful and off-putting that was. DD sure didn't.

I prefer that over "I broke my nail and Gordon got me $250,000" and that horrible rap jingle but I also realize I'm not his target audience
You mean not a view of local morning shows and daytime television?

You can thank the SCOTUS. State bar associations' ability to regulate lawyer advertising was gutted in the 70s when it determined it was protected commercial speech under the 1st Amendment.
I think the last 40+ years has demonstrated the fallacy of that ruling.

This state is built on PI and bunk work comp claims. There's literally no way to reform it until you've completely emptied all revenue streams that flow into it from here, i.e. "move away". Louisiana auto insurance rates are second in the nation and have increased almost 19% since 2015.
The fact that our biggest NIL supporter is a shameless, bible verse hocking shyster truly is the biggest joke this state can play on its residents, and we're all just smiling away at it.
