Pretty sure Trump is not against the IRS per the ad making fun of DeSantis for voting for national sales tax.

Trump folks still running ads lying about DeSantis because DeSantis supports it and Trump does not. One is a conservative and the other (Trump in case you are slow) supports more spending just like the Democrats.

They should be working to simplify the tax code. Maybe not eliminate the IRS, but reduce their size and scope.

DeSantis is going to win ... and supports a national sales tax and eliminating the IRS for individual earners. It is a conservative thing ... something the Always Trumpers are not.

Yes, eliminating the most invasive agency and most powerful tool of the government to impact the daily lives of Americans is a conservative position. We did just fine as a country until 1913 without an Income Tax.
BTW, the way to attack it isn't to try to overturn the Amendment directly. The way to attack it is a lawsuit to overturn Federal Withholding which was started as an emergency measure in 1944 as WWII was at it's zenith. Take away Withholding and the IRS and Income Tax collapses. Withholding is blatantly Unconstitutional btw.
Unfortunately most people are sheep and can't see the obvious truth.

The GOP promised this then delivered another Swamp plan... that was the "Trump" tax cut.

Don't take away withholding. Make them pay you interest. The government isn't just sitting on that money all year.
Also change the laws regarding audits forcing the government to prove you owe. Audits are the only legal process where you are presumed guilty from the start. We need to reverse that.
