ITT we have the Trumpfags claiming DeSantis will not be able to eliminate the IRS and insinuating that because of that, DeSantis’ tax policy is irrelevant.

Meanwhile, they will also purposefully falsely portray the Fair Tax to claim that “DeSantis wants to raise sales tax!!”

And finally, they will claim that Trump will build the wall and make Mexico pay for it.

Sure ... the short version is that they lowered the corp rate too much without cutting more spending

You are correct they should have cut spending, but receipts went up following the TCJA, so the corporate rate being cut to 21% clearly wasn’t the issue. For a conservative, I find it interesting you think the TCJA is “swampy” because the tax cuts were too big.

Do you think spending was codified in the tax code? You can’t possibly think that, right? Your entire diatribe was about spending. The ONLY criticism of the actual tax bill you had is that they cut taxes too much. I’m not sure DeSantis wants you out here stumping for him.

LOL ... you just outed yourself ... YOU support deficit spending and more national debt... just like the Democrats.

I supported lowering taxes and spending without doing that. TRUMP and the GOP blew it in 2017. If they had done it the way I just posted ... again look up ... they would have gotten the economy rocking and NOT gotten crushed in the mid-terms. ... you know winning... something the Always Trumpers don't care about (see the last three elections).

Not at all. But you and I both know the irs isn’t being eliminated. Which is why I asked if there is a backup tax plan.

Not me. That is a ridiculous attack by trump.

There is a lot of wall there that wasn’t there before. Doesn’t do much good when the current President opens the borders.

He outed himself.

It created jobs and more businesses opening. The taxes collected were at an all time high.

Your sole complaint about the TCJA is that it cut taxes too much.

And you and I both know that DeSantis’ support of the Fair Tax when he was in congress was far more likely to have been a protest vote against the status quo of the IRS than it was any real ideological commitment to the Fair Tax (the OP’s protestations to the contrary notwithstanding).

Yes. That is a net positive for Trump. His statement that Mexico would pay for it was nonsense posturing.

Lowering taxes is not the democrat way.

Trump nor any President sets the budget. That's congress!

Of course the FACTs are on my side.

Did the deficit go up? Yes

Was more added to the National Debt? Yes

If does NOT matter if tax receipts went up... they were not enough. Tax receipts would have gone up if they lowered the corp rate to say 25%. If Trump supported more spending cuts, the deficit could have been eliminated. Didn't happen.

Trump and the GOPe passed the bill. They could have made it a great bill, they chose not to.

Your post is nonsensical.

You should have told Trump to "never again" and veto.

Has ZERO to do the the TCJA. Spending is not addressed in the Code. The changes to the Code produced higher receipts than before the TCJA. Those are all facts.

We fully understand that your position, as a DeSantis conservative, is that Trump cut taxes too much.

Again, I think your confusion is in thinking that spending was addressed in the bill and in the tax code.

Your post is nonsensical.

I’m a tax attorney trying to help you understand what is in the Code and what isn’t. It isn’t nonsensical, you just don’t understand it.

You have made your point. You think the TCJA was too big of a tax cut.

Which isn’t what DeSantis said. He said he would sign a bill to eliminate the IRS.

quote:

Loesch: If Congress defunded the IRS and sent such a bill like that to your desk, number one: Would you sign it? And then what would you replace the system with? Are you for a fair tax? A flat tax? Where do you stand on that?

quote:

DeSantis: So, the answer’s yes. I think the IRS is a corrupt organization and I think that it’s not a friend to the average citizen or taxpayer. And so, we need something totally different.

Most gop and all Democrats would impeach any motherfricker who seriously tries to disband the IRS.

Don’t know. I know he’s going to have a tough time saying he would support a single rate system now. But I have faith that his supporters here will be able to rationalize it.
