I know there is a huge patch of this board that is pretty much Trump or nobody. Which, if we're honest, makes sense from a lot of perspectives. His demeanor, fight back mentality, and no bull shite attitude is appealing. Especially to those who feel ignored, or worse, demonized by US politicians and the current socioeconomic agenda of the Left.

If it's Trump on the card, yea, I'm voting for him. If it's DeSantis on the card, I'm voting for him.

The problem doesn't lye with those on the conservative side of the political spectrum when it comes to a general election. The problem is with independents and those who more centralist Democrats. If Trump is ultimately the nominee, I personally think you lose just about any chance of pulling centrists from the left and a huge portion of independents. If it weren't Biden running on the D card, you'd likely lose a ton of voters under 35 who are tired of the country being run by people who can barely operate their smart phones. Something DeSantis would destroy Biden with.

I love me some Trump. But I also love me some DeSantis. I think the choice comes down to who is more likely to pull fringe voters in a the General Election. I personally think that's DeSantis.

People who are grounded in reality also agree.

The reality is they shouldn’t be enemies… they should fight together against the left.
Like jjdick and the Ronbots on this board it’ll never happen, therefore the Left gets what it wants and will win again.

This…I’m undecided, but I’m also sick of the “Rob Desanctimonius” bullshite, it’s not needed and not productive.

Why do you people keep saying this? Nobody feels this way, you are just making it up.

Many on here like President Trump very much and don't appreciate Rob lying about not running against him. But if Rob wins, we will all meatball. Until that time, MAGA!

Better hope Kennedy is the opponent. We couldn't take 4 more years of these brain dead idiots if Trump runs and loses.

Poo flinging monkeys will fling poo at you for having a rational, well thought out opinion that they hate.

It’s where we are.

fight back mentality,

I really, really want a fight back mentality. But there are ways to fight back that don't make one look like an arse, and that don't instantly turn off two thirds of the country.

You post is good, except for where you got most of what you said wrong.

First of all, if you're stupid like Tmc-gin-for-breakfast, you believe Trump lost a legitimate election, and should just delete your account or at least stick to topics you understand, like bouncing balls and commercials that are so funny they make your Sam's Choice soda come out of your nose.

Second of all, there are two factors to consider when talking about voting: breadth and depth. Breadth is how many people would vote for your guy over the other. Depth is how committed they are to vote. You need broad appeal for breadth, and energy for depth.

Trump beats Ron in both. If you think more independents will vote for Ron, not only is that provably wrong, according to RCP polling average, but it's also like open mic night at Hometown Buffet. Ron is very good at what he does: take advice from people who tell him how to run a state that does whatever he says. He's got lots of question marks, a voice like Kermit the Frog, and has the excitement of those square-cut, mass produced carrot cake chunks at a Chinese buffet.

Ron hasn't ripened yet, so we don't know what he will become, and you guys don't have the patience or the wisdom to know to wait until the time is right. Dan Crenshaw was "awesome" for years before he wasn't.

Bottmline:

Trump is a 78 year old RINO moderate with an extremely high "unfavorables".

DeSantis is the more electable competent conservative leader.

Desantis doesn’t seem like someone that has the intestinal fortitude to endure a nasty presidential campaign. I’ve seen a few interviews where he wilts like a dead flower when the interviewer presses him on things. If they actually debate, Trump will walk over him.

"His demeanor, fight back mentality, and no bull shite attitude is appealing."'

That's the biggest problem right there. Voting someone because they like their style rather than policies.

People voted for Bush because they said they were "more likely to want to have a beer with him" than Al Gore and we got ourselves Iraq and Afghanistan.

Trump said he would appoint the best people. He didn't.
Trump got sidetracked constatly by bullspit.
Trump did not build the wall.
And Mexico did not pay for it.
Trump increased spending and started a new military branch.
Much of Affirmative Action is because a previous president signed an order. He could have for example ended it at the Army and Naval academies and did not.

The only good think he did for conservative is the Supreme Court, yes, I concede that. But I think the same or similar jusices would have been picked by any of the other candidates from 8 years ago.

People should vote on policies not style points!

That's cause you haven't learned enough about his voting record in Congress and his track record.

He's Bush in Boots.

The realist is the constant bullshite has made this board almost unreadable, which makes me think that that is the point of the bullshite.

Your upvote to downvote ratio is getting closer to 50/50. That's bad news for Trump. He needs all of us.

Stopped reading here. If you think supporting one single politician and voting for absolutely no one else “makes sense,” then you aren’t a serious person and nothing else you say matters.
