Slow Death of the Big 12

I was reading the thread about the weird games on the fb schedule and how it does still seem off to have A&M and Missouri with the SEC now. Leave those in the big 12, keeping the Oklahoma schools and adding TCU and Baylor and K State being serviceable you’d still have a fine conference. My contention though is that it all started with the downfall of Nebraska and subsequent absconding to the Big 10. Days are numbered for that conference with OU and Texas out.
Also damn Missouri is a drain haha

Yes to add, it is great that LSU is one of the few really big boys involved

It all started when Texas started the longhorn network.

The Big 12 is more stable than the ACC and the PAC 12.

Big 12 is being aggressive and going after Colorado, Utah, and the Arizona schools. They just might get them. I think it’s the PAC 12 that is in trouble.

The Big 12 is not going to without a fight...I believe the ACC will fold before the Big 12...

who cares if they're stable. they're a G5 and they don't know it yet

That doesn’t make sense. The big 12 has ok state, k state, Baylor, Houston I mean these are their biggest.
ACC has massive basketball entities plus nd and in other sports Florida state, Clemson and Miami

It was a civil rights stunt for the SEC bringing in Michael Sam and Texas A&M at the same time

Nah, the Big 8/Big 12 started dying the day they rescued Texas from not having a conference and then let that school run the conference.
They won't die completely though as they are set to net expand the number of teams.

I think the Big 12 will be more stable than the ACC because they won’t have any teams left that anyone wants to steal. They will most definitely be an inferior conference unless/until the ACC is raided by the SEC and/or Big 10.

So is every other Group of Five conference.

Speaking of not making sense. These are their biggest what? BYU and UCF are huge schools. TCU was in the national championship game last season. Cincy has been a CFP/NY6 team recently.
And the Big XII has been the best basketball conference for the last several years. Ever hear of Kansas?

Agree. The ACC is only unstable because it has schools the Big 10 and SEC would want. Once they've picked through the remaining schools will split off separately in some cases but most likely either form an east coast version of what the Big 12 is out west(of the mississippi) or join with the big 12 for the 3rd "major" super conference.

Nebraska was a huge loss to the Big 12 but has Nebraska done anything in the Big 10? ... I wonder how many Nebraska fans miss the Big 12?

Big 12 is going to be fine, if not better than before. Getting rid of that cancer school Texas, and now with the pac 12 about to dissolve the big 12 is about to grow.

The Big 12 will survive. Where does Okie State, Kansas, K-State, Iowa State, Baylor, Texas Tech go? They are all big schools with 5 public. They have a core of 6 schools who will stick together and if and when the ACC and PAC implode they will get schools.
They may not be on the SEC level but they are better than the Sun Belt, MAC, and AAC.

They have 2.
The Big 12 will have the deepest and best basketball conference in the country.
