That's how I'd rank them. The Wire would be last. Maybe while it was airing it was the GOAT but seeing it for the first time 15 to 20 years later. I wasn't that impressed.

Nothing else is in their league. Maybe Homicide: Life On The Street.

The Wire
GoT
BCS
BB

Note: I am currently in S3 of Sopranos. Currently I’d rank it last on this list, but that could change once we are done with it.

Good list. If you go based on my enjoyment on my original watch of the show I would go: The Wire, Sapranos, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and Game of Throwns.

For me I think The Wire and Sapranos were so good and so much better in terms of show quality compared to what was on at the time that pushed those up a bit on my list.

But those are 5 of my all time favorites, I would add The Americans, Justified, Dexter, Deadwood , Freaks and Geeks to round out my top 10 ( Saved by the Bell just missed my top 10).

Endings do not destroy great seasons. Only if you want it to. GOT did not end like we all wanted it to but that was a fantastic journey. Same with other shows that did not end like everyone wanted them to.

I just dont buy into that thought process

Everyone be sure to ignore his rankings.

Was Lost really that good? I haven't watched one episode of it. Just doesn't seem to appeal to me. I may give it a shot.

I was in that same boat about a year ago. 2 weeks later I finished LOST, I couldn’t stop watching

The cool crowd here will tell you that it is total shite. They forget how good that series was.

I actually dont hate the ending. The show was more about characters than plot at the ending and I accepted that.

If you were around when Lost was out, you would know. It set the stage for things to come.

The Wire would be 1 for me.

I’m biased a bit since I absolutely loved Lost start to finish. But IMO it’s that good. I’m actually halfway through a rewatch right now (just finished S3) and I hadn’t watched the series in prolly almost 8+ years, and I keep saying how much I forgot just how good this show was/is. I’m loving every minute of it. I’m interested to see if the second half of the series still holds up, as shite gets off the rails a bit. But it’s nice that it’s been so long since I’ve seen it that I don’t quite remember everything, so in some ways it’s like watching it with fresh eyes to a degree.

The Wire is also my #1 all time. But I also get why it’s not for some people.

1 Breaking Bad
2 Sopranos
3 The Wire
4 BCS
5 GOT

Had GOT finished right and strong, with the quality maintaining as it was in seasons 1 - 4..it would be top 2.

1) Sopranos. Really started 'prestige TV." It's so many things. Funny. Family drama. Mob story. It's definitely the most rewatchable show in your list.
2) Breaking Bad - maybe the most perfectly constructed TV plot/character arc ever. Not as re-watchable as Sopranos.
3) Game of Thrones. It didn't stick the landing. But damn the journey was good. This was very, very good television.
4) The Wire
5) Better Call Saul . . fine show, doesn't not belong on this list.

Wire and sopranos are 1 and 2, in no particular order, and nothing else is close.

Breaking bad is a distant third.

Consistency means more to me than anything. I want to know that a show is good start to finish. I will say that I didn't dislike season 8 of GoT nearly as much as some people did, and I thought season 7 was actually the weakest season by far.

Even though BCS is a highly regarded show, I think it's a better show than it's even recognized for. For me at least, it was uncharted territory. Pulling off what they did with a prequel was unbelievable to me.

Sopranos number one for me.

Don’t really care how you rank the rest after that.
All that have been mentioned were immensely entertaining.

Would like to throw The Shield out there for an honerable mention at the very least.
