Thought this may have been an overreaction, but just watched a few commercials online, and I’m legitimately angry at that lady. Obvious wig is obvious, and her Cajun accent/lexicon is about as legit as a trust fund kid from New York moving to New Orleans and using terms like “makin’ groceries”, “only in NOLA”, etc.

It's so fake that I have to turn the radio off when it comes on. It's crazy how we can see through the fake accents. I don't know how, but I can just tell.

I know her but not going to out her. She's friends with the family. From Crowley. Not her real accent at all and honestly pretty bad acting, but super nice lady so I'd never tell her that to her face

Is she the daughter of the rice farm owner? Hopefully so. I can’t imagine an advertising agency recommending her for this role.

Odds are if they had just let her speak normally, it'd be a much better commercial.

The fact that they haven't burned every Popeye's in the country to the ground over what they did to dirty rice alone speaks volumes
Since when is popeye's cajun? Their 3 main food staples are fried chicken, red beans and rice, and french Fries - none of which are truly cajun food

How stupid do you have to be to equate cajun food with Popeyes?

That commercial is embarrassing. Flat out embarrassing.

That’s where we sell our rice crop but the commercial is really really awful.

no shite, it's comical how many "fake" cajun accents are used in cajun product advertising.

And a lot of their food sucks.
The down votes should be 100% on these statements.
