Texas Dolly

Probably the most recognized poker player of all time. I have his book “Super System 2” at home and it’s autographed by Daniel Negreanu in the chapter he wrote.

Wtf is a Texas Dolly. I thought this was gonna be about a woman who looked like Dolly Parton.

Read his book about poker when it became a big thing and was playing with a bunch of friends who’s experience was watching WPT and thought you played and bluffed every hand. Made a lot of money in those days.

RIP Doyle.

I would have bet he was 89 when the poker boom started 20 years ago

I happened upon him playing a game on one of the Bally channels and surprised he was still playing. He was looking rough but still calling bluffs and taking pots.

Before the “Moneymaker” poker craze this statement would have been correct.

After the popularity of poker exploded, Phil Helmuth and Daniel Negreanu have probably the most recognized players.
