This is what I always imagined SeaWorld was like.

Know what you mean. Went to Myrtle Beach a couple of years ago. It was eye opening for me as well. Let's just say I didn't go to Sea World and I still got to see plenty of whales in the flesh.

Don't go to fricking Sea World. It's not 1986.

That’s cool and all, but those days are gone…just like the days of a clean family going to the water park.

This isn’t just Seaworld, theme parks, or anywhere special. It’s everywhere.

Think of the places you go. Then think if you consider those places above average for what they provide. Now, think of what you consider to be the average place.

If you eat at the fancy steakhouse, realize that much of America will go to Sizzler style places. If you shop at a fancy grocery store, realize that much of America buys at WalMart. You can argue quality, but an average day at any average store will yield what you saw. Unfortunately, overweight, poorly dressed, tattoos, vaping, fat kids, cursing on the reg…it’s the norm.

You ever noticed the lack of closet space in older homes?

70 years ago people were lucky to own 3 sets of clothing unless the were of means, not sure what you have deluded yourself into believing.

That's almost too much to believe.

Paying hundreds of dollars to swim with people like that in a public pool is beyond my frame of understanding.

I hear you. We rented a mountain cabin in the Smokies about six years ago. After we had gotten our fill of hiking we ventured into Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge.

We stuck out like a sore thumb. No tats, not smoking, in shape, kids dressed and behaving normally, etc. we got out of there as quickly as we arrived. We simply did not belong there and it was not enjoyable to be there.

I know the vast majority of my elderly relatives that died over the last 30 years dressed better than the average American today. They knew how to put on some decent clothes to go somewhere. And these weren't people of great means. They lived in small towns and worked blue collar jobs, but they still had some self respect.

When you remove shame, blame, honor and respect from society, you get what you see in public everywhere.

Helicopter money has pushed us over the edge.

Water parks and arena football are by far the biggest sleaze-fests.

I was just thinking about this the other day.

Remember when poor people were simple, humble, and virtuous?

In America we have poors who are entitled, loud, obnoxious, lack most virtues, disgusting/fat/tatted, just an abomination of human nature.

Sadly, even “fancy” steakhouses aren’t immune to breaches of decorum when it comes to proper attire. I have seen many a denim-clad diner in high end restaurants.
Worse yet, have you seen how people dress to show their “respects” at a funeral lately?
