What most people don’t realize when they go to stores and see bud fully stocked and say no one’s buying it is that for at LEAST 25 years, all AB distributors have had a better merchandiser team than Miller coors distributors. What that means to you lay folk, merchandisers are the crews responsible for filling the coolers with beer. They’ll hit the bigger stores 3 times a day with a mandatory last “pull up” at 3 - 6 pm. AB distributors are all around better executors than their counter parts. Miller coors distributors may only “pull up” a store once on a Saturday, and not touch it again until Monday because the sales are genuinely that much different between the brands. Everyone keeps saying yeah but the article says bud light sales are slipping, no shite they’ve been slipping for at least 6-7 years. Not that this thing didn’t help accelerate a little more. But bud light has been in trouble for a while. They have the BL family that has kept them going to help push numbers (bill line, platinum, lime-a-Rita, seltzer, whatever). Point is an distributors are way better at executing than their opponents. Especially in br. Although Mockler beverage is a bunch of pretentious douche bags, they do a great job at executing.

Point is if you want to punch ab in the count, stop drinking these beers:
Bud, bud light, Michelob Ultra, natural light, Busch, & my personal favorite King Cobra. Stella Artois bass and some other brand are in Bev too but frick them. The Mexican beer brands corona modelo and negra are partially owned by abi but not fullly(unless something changed in the last two years).

Watch the dog fish guys Netflix show about it. Fighting for space or some shite.

BL’s problem is that their product isn’t actually any good and it’s interchangeable with every other light beer. So when people leave there’s no guarantee they come back. Shitty light beer is basically 100% branding. That’s what makes AB’s mistake so egregious. They know the importance of branding in their business and they just didn’t give af.

Exactly correct. Apparently the genius woke bitch that did this missed a basic Economics class that teaches you about substitutes in a market in which consumers don't really care about the product they choose. The tiebreaker is the marketing and branding. It was very easy for people to just pickup Coors or Miller instead of Bud. This will be one of the greatest marketing blunders in history.

Problem for them is none of those people you mentioned or high profile will want their name associated with BL so good luck on that idea.

It's hard to decide who I want to laugh at more, AB for stomping on its own dick or the mouth breathers who judge their manhood by beer commercials.

Iconic sports stars are a brand in themselves. It will be interesting to see if a well known athlete risks that for money. Doing a BL commercial could tarnish your reputation.

I think BLs best strategy is to create more edgy commercials that are funny and appeal to the average dude in a sports bar - stuff like the one where the dog bites the guy in the crotch. Put out funny commercials and ride it out. And hope it works.

Make Riley Gaines your brand ambassador, confirm that trans women are still men and tell the Human Rights Campaign to go frick themselves. I’ll buy it again after that.

They could have done themselves a favor and regrouped before saying anything.
Now everything comes across as weak or backtracking and blood is in the water and people want to fry them.
Why?
Because media and people can now.
Pre COVID this wouldn’t have been a stain. IMO non humble opinion.
