I don’t necessarily disagree here, but I tend to think throwing money on the favorite isn’t the way to go.

Without really looking at the odds, I’d say Edmonton. Plenty of hedge opportunity with one of the highest flying teams that now have a goalie to make them contenders.

PS: stay away from the Avs. I’ll be shocked if they get to the WCF, even as a fan who will be traveling for G1 against Seattle.

Now looking at the odds, again - hedging possibilities being the goal of futures.

Edmonton Oilers +670
New Jersey Devils +1025
New York Rangers +1200
Dallas Stars +1375
Minnesota Wild +1975

Would be my futures plays if I were to lay $.

Oily boys about to make some noise. City is already electric and we are still a couple days away.

I took the oilers a couple weeks ago at +1200 so I could watch with a rooting interest. I know that town will go nuts if they make a run

Steve Dangle and The Hockey Guy are 2 excellent YT channels.

I'm calling Boston - Edmonton with Boston winning in 6.

I expect VGK to struggle a bit getting past Winnipeg, then drawing Edmonton in Round 2, leading to slow, painful death.

Canes fan here and going tomorrow.

There should be enough NY transplants for the Isles to represent, but no matter what the building will be LOUD. Weather will be nice to tailgate before heading inside.

The city is so fun during playoffs. Last year was wild after they beat Calgary.

I will say this for my American friends, if you get a chance to see a feed that shows the anthems, make sure to watch it. It gives me goosebumps every time the crowd takes over to do the anthem (they also do the star spangled banner too but the singer usually sings over them)

No one is more dedicated than The Hockey Guy. That dude churns out content seemingly every day.

Carolina is sneaky good this year. They have a whiff of Colorado last year. Id hit them (especially for the value) and Edmonton and of course Boston.

Also, for an upset special, Winnipeg over the Knights. If the jets can win that series look for them to make a run to the WCF. Especially if Bucky keeps dancing on his head like he did the last few games to get his team into the playoffs.

It's going to be tough for the Avs to reach the finals without Landeskog. They'll make some waves, but a repeat is not going to happen.
