It certainly looks like Chaffin and Casanova are pitching much better and look ready for this part of the season.
Unfortunately the batting continues to be very subpar against the better teams ;cannot hit the better pitchers and clutch hitting is rare.
It seems obvious where the problem lies, either the hitting coach is not coaching them well or the talent for hitting is not as good as we think. I favor the former as the main long-standing problem ,although I believe we could improve on the recruiting.

If girl catches throw to first in second inning it’s a 0-0 game after 7 innings

While one can never tell what would have happened under different circumstances, it’s likely OU still gets a homer in the 3rd inning to win 1-0 all else being equal.

This thread full of Softball MA's and MAMM's.
We got shut out 2 of 3 against Tennessee and now shut out again against OU.
For as long as Milesorina has been at LSU, there are no excuses for this mediocre BS at this point.
Time for her to say "Farewell and Adieu" after the season is over.
Scott will go out and hire a big name/big money Softball Mulkey. (How about the OU HC Sasso?)......

I would bet good money that you would have to pay her more than a football coach to even get her to entertain the offer. You can't put a price tag on the home field advantage in OKC, add the new field into the mix and they will probably have to carry Patty out of there one day.

JT isn’t leaving OU anything short of a HC job (and a decent one at that)
I wasn’t saying he’d leave OU to become LSU’s hitting coach. I was echoing whoever was speculating on him being interested in becoming LSU’s HC, if we are ever in the market.
As 18 said, it is more likely he stays in Norman and takes over OU when his mother retires. As I posted, I think we could reel in a Jay Johnson-type hire of an experienced head coach.

Definitely no shame in losing to Oklahoma. But yes, our helplessness in hitting top notch pitching is not just a tactical problem this season, it’s an ongoing program problem.

Also Patty is the highest paid softball coach in the USA at $1.625 million per year.... nobody else is even close.

Nobody’s beating OU this year.

The girl that hit the homer would have never come up in the inning if the error hadn't occurred.

how can TP make incredible plays and throws from SS all over infield but not make a dialed in effort to swing away with 80% of her strength? Such a cop out to not give a shite at the plate.

My hopes are that when Torina retires or is fired we hire Tyra Perry, former Tiger and HC at Illinois. She has won the Big 10 and made the tournament but softball like baseball up north is not very good. If not, then we need to get the best available HC our there.

Same. LSU is batting 8 w/ that useless at bat of TP. Until she gets healed up no need for her to bat at all.

Big error and 3 unearned runs! Ladies couldn't hit Okie pitching!

I’d like to see us make a go at Courtney Deifel, Arkansas’s head coach.

But you're generally right and I agree there's a good chance nobody beats them.
I grew up with the family of one of the Oklahoma State pitchers and I was askee if I wanted to go to Stillwater in a couple of weeks and I might just do that.

Well they do have one loss so somebody did. I get it though, you mean for the title.

How about give her credit for being out there and giving you anything at all when she's clearly not herself? Her backup isn't ready and while her ABs weren't good yesterday she was on base 6 out of 9 ABs over the weekend.
