Is Tiger’s chip on 16 in 2005 the most famous shot in golf history?

Other options are the better than most putt at the Players and Jack’s “yes sir!” putt in 1986.

No video of Sarazen’s shot heard round the world so tough to pick it.

Great shot. Imo, the greatest shot I’ve ever seen was Phil’s 2nd shot on 13 at the 2010 masters.

It was certainly great, but tour pros chip in often.

For the Masters; single shot greatness

1. Mize chip in at 11 in 1987 was a walkoff playoff winner.
2. 4 double eagles have been made in the masters. One on each par 5. I think Oosthaisen made the last one at 2.
3. Tiger/Jack: too many to count
4. Phil of Pine Straw at 13.
5. Schwartzel finishing 4233 to win
6. Lyle fairway bunker shot on 18.
7. Scheffler’s fourth putt on 18.

Davis Love made the same chip on the same hole albeit he didn't win the tournament, but was in the hunt.

I believe most famous is correct.

Prior to that Pavin's 4 wood to 18 at Shinnecock was show often.

The zoom in on the ball and the delay in the ball falling are what made it so replayable.

That has definitely added to the fame of the shot.

Mize’s chip in to win on 11. He loses if it doesn’t hit the pin, that thing was picking up speed when it got to the hole.

It’s definitely Tiger’s chip and it’s not remotely close. Even non golfers know about that shot because of the commercial.

It’s certainly one of the most replayed shots of all time, especially this week.

I believe its the most famous.

The best may be Watsons wedge on 10 in the playoff

I don’t know. Tigers “Expect anything different?” putt in the US Open was probably a bigger shot. That was some of the most fun I’ve ever had watching golf.

Not even close to the most famous in golf history. 4 easy and quick ones:

Sarazen’s double Eagle
Nicklaus’ 1 iron
Hogan’s 1 iron (actually a 2 iron supposedly)
Watsons Pebble chip in
