I wouldnt say AS unreliable, but you cant keep both at the rate they are in the shop. Its just bad business and last time I checked the Pelicans arent a charity.

Shaq, Barkley, Moses Malone, etc. Dudes were often out of shape after injury or to start the season, but they did everything the team did just at a half arse pace

I think back then guys had more leeway to make their own decision on what they could do. Now everything is entirely in control of the medical staff. Even if he wanted to go out there and half arse it just to be out there and help the team, the medical staff wouldn't let him

seriously, what human requires 14 weeks to heal from a hamstring STRAIN?

Strain is a very misleading characterization for our purposes. The grade he had suggests it is a partial tear, and the muscle doesn't always remodel properly so if you go before it's ready, or the tear didn't close up right, you're going to have another partial tear and have to start the healing process all over again.

Pretty sure it was essentially two injuries. He got injured again in the original ramp up

I’m not saying it doesn’t suck arse he’s been out this long, but people are mightily downplaying the severity of a hamstring injury. It’s one of the biggest muscles in the body and you use it every time you walk and every time you go up or down the stairs. It’s not a muscle you can just lay off of while it recovers. That’s why so many NFL players have reoccurring hamstring injuries, they rarely fully heal during the season

I feel like if we don't get some sort of update from the Pelicans here in the next 2-3 hours then something is definitely up, again.

NBA Central on twitter said "There's still no timetable for Zion Williamson's return, per @shamscharania". However, I haven't seen Shams post that anywhere. He may have said it on a podcast or tv show.

Shoot Around already happened considering the team has video of Interviews up already.

No Zion news.

Yeah, Shams was on a show/pod yesterday and it seemed like he was rehashing what he heard. Basically old news (last week old), not breaking news he just got a scoop on.

Pels can’t build around him if he doesn’t play in the postseason

I wasn't expecting any Zion news until tomorrow at the earliest anyway unless there was a leak

The previous update came on a Wednesday... so I wouldn't have expected the team to say anything until Wednesday or later

I would guess we'll find out when tomorrow's pregame injury report comes out

rt3 you are the homie but considering this aint really no normal week in basketball one would think the team would try and get ahead of things considering the negative precdents they have set in the past.

They operate as if fans dont matter to a degree. Which is crazy because I know for a fact people rep that team for the name of the city on the chest. All we ask is you just be upfront and they have an extremely hard time doing this.

It’s possible that Shams was rehashing, but it can’t be discounted that he has a direct line to Zion/Zion’s camp. He’s dropped new info on Zion before anyone has known it a couple of times. Their relationship Stems back from a personal interview Zion did with Shams a few years ago. So, he does likely know more than any other media member regarding Zion news. Shams and Jordy Cullota are probably the 2 most reliable sources for Zion news from the media.

Ingram has played almost DOUBLE the games during the past 4 years. The 22 year old glass figurine is looking more and more like a generational bust and $150 + million mistake by the Pelicans and Nike.

I'm not saying it wasn't sourced, Shams is very trustworthy. I'm saying he had last week's news because that's all that's out there. This was something he said on Monday and he had info from the end of last week. Not super outdated, but most of us wanted the latest news from Monday and it looks like no news was leaked. Shams clip

The "new" information was that the team was being cautious with him and don't seem to be rushing him back for the play in, which to me sound like code for "He's not ready yet but please renew your season tickets today."
