They used to be top tier. I saw them play twice recently and they were not what I would have expected. Also, their record indicates that they play fewer games than the other teams.

Did they just give up and incorporate it into the central who's who, like everything else they do there?

This makes it seem like you have some sort of agenda here…

I’m not even from there so save it

Well, it's Central and if you had any experience with the place you would know how they are. I don't live there anymore and don't have any family there, but I used to live there for a while and it was an eye-opening experience. They were very good at baseball though.

When did you live there?

I always wondered why their football team never won regularly. I think the basketball team was pretty decent back in mid to late 90’s.

They were the shite back in the early 90s in 4A. Brian Weiss, Trey McClure and a few others.

Add Todd McClure too.

They won it all as freshman (weiss and Trey) I think they had a good LH pitcher. They won it 4 straight years.

They played travel ball together. That might be the problem w/ Central's team now. Coaching for little league ball is not good anymore.

They won the last title in 12 innings. Trey had the game winning hit. They played Hammond and pitchers pitched all 12 innings

Braxxtin, Dash, Baselynne and Strykker all followed their travel ball coach elsewhere. Hard to compete when you lose that core group of talent.

They weren’t in the same class . Trey was co 94, Todd was co 95 and I think Weise was 95/96. Weise won it all 4 years he was there. Coach Blanchard was on a roll back then.

Mike Forbes resigned and they fell off a cliff.

I don't understand this post. Central still has a good team. They are young. Right now they are strong in pitching but are not the best hitting team. Next year they will be very good.

They have enough pitching that could ger them through the playoffs.

Baseball has always been big in area for both Central and Central Private.

People who got cut or didn’t play like to claim politics was the reason.

Central baseball will be fine. Leo is coaching the high school and Trey and Tanna run the Pelicans travel ball organization. Trey has been coaching this years 13U Majors for years. That whole team except for a few kids are going to Central. The 12U team behind them are also good. Mix them in with a few of the 8th graders they have this year and they will be competing.

You mean Mike Forbes was told to resign after going to the state championship because a group of players’ parents got upset that he didn’t play their braxtons enough but threatened him by saying he was abusing kids by demanding they work hard to improve and working them hard at practice while saying bad words?

Is this the same Mike Forbes at Brusly who is suspended by the LHSAA for the next calendar year and got Brusly banned from the playoffs this season?

Don't know but St. Michael beat them 2-1 a couple weeks back.

Got one-hit in seven.
