This is supposedly the law in all of the states where you can buy weed legally and is in fine print on the paper that you sign when you get your medical marijuana. This is just another way for our government to control firearms I'm guessing?

Had to edit for this.....

Some states have issued their own laws in addition to this ruling. For example, a recent ruling in Oregon allowed medical marijuana gun owners to receive a concealed carry license. On the other hand, Florida recently ruled that a medical marijuana patient could not legally purchase a firearm.

Well since marijuana makes people violent maybe it’s for the best. Law enforcement across the country knows this, this is why they oppose legalization.

I know it’s that way in Arkansas.

Not sure if its for a hand gun or all guns though.

Sure does sound kinda infringy to me.

If you present the state an diagnosis of anxiety and or depression what do you expect them to do?

The Supremacy Clause has been in our constitution since its founding. Marijuana is illegal federally therefore the state’s view is obsolete.

ETA: just stating a fact, I am not agreeing with the governments definition of a prohibited person

Medical marijuana has alway made me

What does the government ever make better and cost less? The dispensaries in recreational states are capitalist and fine, but Uncle Sam weed I would imagine is junk. You can source better shite at a coffee house, or the bus boys at Chili's.

There is a question on the 4473 form when purchasing a firearm that asks if you’re addicted to marijuana. This has been the case since I’ve been alive. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but it is what it is. This is coming from someone who owns NFA items, so I’ve had to go beyond the 4473 when purchasing some things

What about legal states? I also thought Oregon was a legal state. Do I need a card to buy it in Colorado? I thought medical and being legal on a state level were two different things. Either way it’s just another way for the federal government to interfere in a state’s right issue where they have no business interfering, a recent Supreme Court decision made that pretty clear.

Well, considering the form 4473 asks if you are an illegal user of marijuana and marijuana IS illegal (federally) that makes sense.

That’s why I give my neighbor, medical card holder for state of Florida, 200$ every month.

There’s always a work around.

In this thread supposed second amendment supporters show their support is paper thin. No wonder we grow less free with each passing year.

If you don’t keep the card in your holster, the gun will fit.

What about alcohol? I spent plenty of nights with plastered adults at hunting camps full of whiskey and guns. Bit if a double standard.
