The Rant melted like a bunch of queens over the ump talking to Tre. The ump handled it well.. like I said right after it happened. Good to see people come around.

It was a ridiculous warning that could have resulted in the next HR hitter to be ejected and you think he handled it well?

Hell, I never even considered the bat flip. That seems to be the norm these days. I figured Trey said something he didn’t like after that shite strike call he made a pitch or two before the HR.

Did you not read your own thread that says you can’t flip the bat over your head. Instead of causing a scene and showing up the players he talked to Tre calmly for three seconds and told him the rule.

Tre patted the ump on the back in what looked like Tre telling the ump he appreciated the ump telling him that.

It was a scene. The coach had to call an offfensive timeout because a bat went 5 inches above his head. The real way to do it would be to mention it before his next AB with no warning at all since the next faux infraction could get a player ejected. Because frick those retarded, subjective rules.

I'd like to see Tre' very carefully and slowly place the bat on the grass next time he homers, in mockery of that warning.

In mockery of the rule, but not the warning.

Brandon Larson hit 40 home runs 1997. Not once did he flip his bat above his waist. I guess he didn’t have any fun since all the young kids tell me flipping a bat is the only way to have fun playing baseball.

For the record, I’ve already said that I don’t think Tre’s actions were that bad. He wasn’t directing anything to the other team, he was looking at his team mates. I’m cool with that.

Pretending like celebrations didn’t happen or were somehow not showy at all isnt the best argument.

He at least got to celebrate at the plate with his teammates.

Why does this mean it's better?

They have had to move teams away from the plate because of the trash talk from bench players to the catcher or pitcher.

These rules seem stupid at face value, but the players have been getting out of control of the last few years and something had to be done.

Seems like a good rule for health reasons. There has to be a limit to how high or eventually some emotional player would toss it and injure someone.

In that case, let’s not use a hard ball or hard bat anymore. And let’s make it illegal to throw it over 90mph. It could hurt someone.

No one complains in other sports when a player responds like this after doing something good or great. Baseball needs to relax.

Was because there is apparently a rule that you can’t flip the bat above your head.
If this is indeed a rule, there should be another rule that the Vandy whistlers should painfully and slowly die in a house fire.
