Yep. My dad is like this. A few years ago I tried to get him to watch The Looming Tower, because I knew he would like it, but I made the mistake of mentioning that Alec Baldwin was in the cast. He went on and on, and said he’d never watch it.

Fast forward to this past week, he just had hip replacement surgery so I added a bunch of movies and tv shows to their network. Unsurpringly, he completely forgot about Baldwin being in The Looming Tower, and ended up really enjoying the miniseries…like I knew he would.

The worst part is that he, and mainly Fox News, have corrupted my mother now too. A woman who hasn’t given a shite about politics for the first 60+ years of her life now watches that garbage 24/7 with my dad ever since she retired.

Yep mine are the same. I’ve recommended top-notch movies and television shows and they won’t watch it because one of the actors said some thing years ago they don’t agree with.

I saw it last weekend in an early showing at a Regal. I don’t think it will be sweeping the Oscars, but it’s a great movie. Affleck might get a director nomination but that category is going to be stacked this year.

Just got out. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend. Damon carries the film, but everyone's pretty great. The only one I didn't care for was Chris Tucker, especially during the presentation scene.

Air is kind of a perfect matinee movie. Office setting about something of interest to a sports fan, enough humor to keep it entertaining, writing kept the movie going, and the acting was good enough to keep them movie go from engaging to eyerolling.

I think affleck and Damon didn’t think they could do jordan justice by having an actor or athlete portray him. Makes sense

I thought it was fine.

It felt like a PR movie for Nike honestly

So I’ve read Shoe Dog and a big Jordan fan so I wanted to see it.

Thought the pacing of the movie was good, no real major lulls.

Damon and Viola Davis were very good… I think Viola could be a strong Oscar contender.

I enjoyed the story.. a fairly narrow bit of history between a struggling brand and a future star and the moment that was a tipping point for Nike and Jordan changing forever brand deals for athletes

Overall the movie was fun, had some good laughs and an endearing story of Jordan’s mom fighting for her son.

Honestly my favorite part of the movie was seeing Chris Tucker on screen again

Jordan isn’t in the commercials. His ego is probably too big to have somebody play him.

Has Jordan commented on the movie at all? I’d be curious to see his reaction.

Just saw it. This movie was absolutely excellent.

Acting was great, especially Damon and Bateman. And even despite knowing the outcome of what happened obviously, still seemed like a fairly tense movie. Thought they did a good job with that.

Was also very surprised at the amount of decent humor in it. Laughed several times during it. Tucker and Damon were funny.

Also just like in many of his others, Affleck cant act, but he's an amazing director. I'll give him that.

Was definitely a great movie though. Also a lot of songs/images they showed throughout the movie, especially in the beginning, made the 80s look cool as frick.
