This challenge brought in a couple of new cooks in the kitchen, as well as some returning players. Thanks, all! It’s more fun when there is good participation.

After taking a long hiatus from the challenges, our winner came back with a vengeance!

1. holygrale - Mexican Cornbread Casserole

2. Darla Hood - Seafood Stuffed Eggplant Casserole

3. Gris Gris - French Inspired Chicken Pot Pie Casserole

4. SixthAndBarone - Smoked Brisket Enchilada Casserole

Check out all the entries here:

SUBMISSION Thread

Thanks for still following along, y’all!

holygrale, what is our next challenge ingredient?!

Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all who contributed.

I really enjoyed the entry submissions thread, and all the final products would be welcome on my plate any time.

I'm afraid lunch today, wherever I go, will be a disappointment. Nice work.

Thanks to all.

Picking an ingredient is getting difficult.

Let's go with BREAD

Couldn't sleep last night so I completed cooking all these this morning. I will start writing my description of each cook and the photos of my process. I should be done doing that in time for the submission.

Congratulations to all who participated!

I was so happy to get an entry in since I don't usually have time to do this. I am so honored and humbled to have my name now included on the F&DB Cooking Challenges Post of Fame with so many fabulously talented cooks!

I don't bake bread (except cornbread), but I know how to use it.

Bread. So we can use it in a dish and it’s not just about baking bread?

Damn. You people sure know how to make it hard to come up with a low carb entry!

I was finally going to give this a try.

But bread? I barely qualify as a cook much less a baker. Don’t bake at all.

No need to bake. Use bread as an ingredient. Enter for fun.

Good point. I’d never come close to winning anyway.
Hmm. I have an idea though. Steal something from a restaurant I went to last night. Haha!
The major downside now that I think about it is posting pictures. This website must be built on 90’s technology.

I would never put any money on myself winning either. I just do it for fun. I like to pick out something that is different yet something I enjoy cooking and eating. Make it your style, not the food board's style.

Pictures are a pain for the first challenge or two but then there's nothing to it.

THIS! My heatlh issues make it difficult for me to do much in the kitchen now but I enjoy seeing these!! I didn't vote this time but it is hard for me when crawfish is involved because I am allergic.
