I just bought a Bosch a year ago. My surface front stainless dents for no reason. We are not rough on our appliances. We have had other fridges that this hasn’t happened.

Many other finishing touches that aren’t right. Will never buy a Bosch again

Very frustrating.

Bosch, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Viking, SubZero, etc..

Samsung is for TVs and Phones..not appliances.

I'm a longtime KitchenAid kitchen appliance suite loyalist, but even they aren't quite what they used to be in longevity. None of 'em really are.

This sounds like a fixable problem. Probably just the ice machine supply line.

They are all trash unless you go high end like JennAir.

You have to spend a few K to get even a decent appliance now.

Samsung fridges have been fine for over a decade for me, with the exception of the well known issue with the ice maker freezing up. Samsung apparently forces their repair techs to try six or seven things, which require different visits, before they replace the part that actually causes the issue, even though there are youtube videos all over on it.

I'd honestly stick with Korean (LG, Samsung). If there's a water leak issue, that's could be a very, very simple fix with a 50 cent attachment. I'm not an appliance tech, but it sounds like the water line popped off.

I’m tempted to buy an LG just because it does this…

All refrigerators are trash. Just talk to any appliance repair guy who has been in the business a while. They use cheaper parts, flimsier metal, crappy pipes and tubes, and cheaper condensers than they did 20-30 years ago. And now they are putting Wifi and TV's in them which is just more shite that will break.

But it's not all on the manufacturers. Part of it is the EPA passes new regulations every few years that is forcing manufacturers to make them more and more energy efficient. And to do this, they have to make them less reliable. (I guess the government doesn't mind that tons of fridges end up in landfills after 2 or 3 years as long as we save a few watts of power).

My last two fridges both went out in under 3 years. In the first case, the repair man told me he could fix it, but it would cost more than buying a new one. With the second fridge, the repairman told me "I can't fix it, you need a new one." The first fridge died just after my warranty expired. Luckily the 2nd fridge was still under warranty.

So just pick your poison. Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire. All are of the same low quality. If you have the $$ you could opt for a commercial fridge. They might give you longer life.

Try to avoid ice makers in the fridge. Those are always a problem

Stick with the ones that are forever tried and true.

Had an Amana for over 30 yrs. Replaced the ice maker on it one time. It was still kicking when we replaced it with a Whirlpool because we updated the kitchen to SS appliances.

Maytag DW was 28 when we replaced it. Put a GE in that is so quiet you dont know it is on.

GE MW is 29 and still in use.

Magic Chef gas cooktop is 29 but mom wants a new SS. She bought one for her dad's house and it is a piece of shite I never heard of. She in on the internet as we speak trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with it. Burners only have three settings...

frick these new brands like LG, Bosch, Samsung, etc... My daughter bought an LG frig and it broke in a week.

Loved my Samsung just because of the auto refillable water pitcher.

They had an ice maker issue but fixed it.

*Almost all the ice makers suck now.

The days of fridges lasting 10+ years are over. I’ve had multiple $700 fridges go out in my rentals in under 5 years. I had one that was a year old that sprung a refrigerant and had to be tossed.

Just had my whirlpool French door repaired. Bought it in 2019, the bottom freezer would randomly not cool as well and it wouldn't make ice. They replaced the main board, fan motor, and some sensors. Luckily I got the 5 yr warranty from Lowes when I bought it.

If you get an ice maker make sure it is in the freezer and not trying to compete with the refrigerated part of the refrigerator.

I personally would avoid any ice makers in the door. My next ice maker will be located in the freezer.
