That's the last season a team went undefeated and won the national championship.

I don't know that we're national championship material but my point is to relax. Good teams lose basketball games sometimes. It happens.

Be frustrated all you want. You have every right to be. These people calling for his head after one loss and completely overreacting are ridiculous.

I've been watching since I was a kid in the late 80's.
First time to the pmac saw Shaq and CJ.
This is the worst I've seen LSU basketball, and I don't see it getting better anytime soon.
I blame coaching.

Johnny Jones last season was awful and Nikki Fargas had some rough seasons too.

It's worse than the last JJ team, or the two terrible Trent Johnson teams. Those teams were generally competitive for the first 30 minutes, before collapsing late. This year the games are all but over by the half.

When was the year that we had about 8 scholarship players by end of season due to injury and quitting? Tigers weren’t very good but they played their asses off every game which is more than we can say about this team

Some of the teams in the mid to late 90’s after the Dale debacle were pretty bad. We didn’t have life again until the stromile swift/Jabari Smith days. This team is along those lines. McMahon has a ton of work to do in high school and portal recruiting.

Our offensive impotency is just dreadful to watch. We could have won some of these games, but we simply cannot score.

It's at least as bad as Trent and JJ's last teams. I would have to see what the average margins of defeat were for each team.

In my lifetime probably so. I don't recall it ever being this bad even in Jones years.

I'm an old guy, a former sports writer, and covered a lot of hoops in my 87 years. This hire for LSU basketball is a total disaster. It has been unwatchable. I wrote to the man who made the best hire in college history, and expressed my displeasure. As expected, I got no answer. This coach has no clue. First off they have no point guard. Secondly, he has nobody who can shoot a three which is a huge factor that has wrecked a once great game of basketball. How this guy can remain for a second year is mind boggling. He's got no clue.

The 2009-2010 may have been worse, but they only played 16 conference games.

It depends on what you mean by worst.

By worst do you mean least talented or one that gets the least out of the talent they have?

Because those IMHO are two different answers.

I didn't think this year's team was the worst, until I watched them in person get blown out of their own gym by a bad South Carolina team. Just sickening-- that game and the game this past wknd v Ole Miss are justification alone for canning Mac

Unfortunately this might not even be in the top 5 of worst teams we have had in the 2000's. Every coach except Wade had at least a couple of terrible teams. This team is bad and most of its players are not SEC caliber, but there were teams with coaches that had been here multiple years that were worse than this one. MM had to completely put a team together with the cloud of probation hanging over it.

If he can keep a handful of players and hit the portal hard, we should be greatly improved next year. For a player that want to play immediately against top competition, we are a good place to go.
